Hamas losing control? New footage shows Hamas shooting civilians for trying to take humanitarian aid
Attempts to police internal criticism and public lynchings could indicate the terror group feels threatened

The Hamas terror organization has recently begun to increase its efforts to re-impose its control over the areas of the Gaza Strip where it operates.
Through several of its social media accounts, the group has posted threats to anyone looting humanitarian aid delivers in the enclave, and videos showing masked gunmen, apparently members of the terror group, engaging in public lynching of people accused of looting or collaborating with Israel have begun to appear on social media.
In fact, the IDF on Sunday showed a video from a Hamas-affiliated channel documenting the execution of one such person in Gaza City.

The video came from an incident which took place over the weekend in the central Gaza city.
“Residents of Gaza – Hamas, the terrorists and criminals are killing you and not worrying about your lives. The terrorist and criminal organization, Hamas, kills you and does not care about your lives. There is no difference between a dictator who kills silently and a terrorist who slaughters openly. Both are your enemies and the enemies of life,” said COGAT’s Arabic spokesman Maj.Gen. Ghassan Alian.
“This shocking documentation in front of you is an additional desperate and failed attempt on Hamas’s part to instill fear in the public in order to maintain its rule and power, and to cynically exploit the people of Gaza in order to maintain its reign of terror,” he wrote in a post to COGAT’s Arabic page on Facebook.
The video is similar to others which are released on Hamas-affiliated channels on Telegram such as one called “The Hunter” and another called “Catch the Collaborator,” which often depict examples of such lynchings, which are carried about by Hamas members without any legal proceedings.
Similar videos have appeared recent days in which people suspected of stealing small quantities of aid have been beaten with iron bars or with large rocks.
An independent Gaza journalist, Omar Abdradou, who has spoken out against Hamas cruelty in the past, was beaten by men he says are from Hamas, after he wrote an article critical of Yahya and Mohammed Sinwar.
Gaza-based journalist Omar Abdradou, known for his outspoken criticism of Hamas, has received a direct threat letter following his recent posts about Yahya and Mohammed Sinwar.

Abdradou said he underwent medical examinations and received treatment at Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat, following a brutal beating by Hamas members on Monday.
At the same time, Hamas threatened members of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation over the weekend, the foundation said. Hamas also announced that it had killed several members of the Popular Forces militia, run by former Palestinian Authority security agent Yasser Abu Shabab.
The GHF aid group has found itself frequently closing aid distribution sites over incidents of violence in the vicinity of its facilities.
The Hamas-affiliated Telegram channel “The Hunter” published a statement by the terror organization last week, in which it claimed responsibility for killing seven people it accused of stealing aid or working with the militia of Abu Shabab.
The group, which is apparently operated by someone close to the “Arrow” unit of Hamas, which functions as a kind of secret police for Hamas, promised to deal with anyone collaborating with Israel or working to steal aid.
“We do not send empty warnings, we do not forget traitors, we do not forgive thieves, and we do not compromise with agents,” said a statement posted to the Telegram channel “The Hunter.”
The IDSF previously released drone footage which showed masked gunmen attacking Gaza civilians in the Khan Younis area who had gathered to collect humanitarian aid.
While there have been several incidents of shootings directed towards Palestinians trying to collect aid from the GHF distribution sites over the past few weeks, the identity of the gunmen is not always clear. Both Hamas and the Popular Forces militia have leveled accusations against each other for the shootings.
Some analysts say the increased attempts at internal policing of Gaza civilians by Hamas is a sign that the group fears losing control of the remaining territories in its possession.
Recently, the Abu Shabab group called on Gaza civilians to come to the humanitarian area about to be established in Rafah, promising to protect them from Hamas.
The group also has reportedly begun announcing recruitments for a political branch, aimed at replacing the Hamas municipal authority in the Gaza Strip.
