Freed Hamas prisoners reportedly staying at Egyptian luxury hotel

Some 154 released Hamas and ISIS terrorists have been staying at the luxury Marriott Hotel in the Egyptian capital Cairo, The Daily Mail reported. Journalists from the British news outlet who booked rooms at the luxury hotel, shared images of both Hamas and ISIS terrorists standing alongside tourists from Western nations. The British journalists noted that many of the Islamist terrorists reportedly glared at bikini-clad Western female tourists at the hotel who appeared to be unaware of the security threat.

Earlier this month, Hamas released the remaining 20 living Israeli hostages after two years of captivity in the Gaza Strip in a ceasefire agreement brokered by the U.S. President Donald Trump. In return, the Jewish state was required to release a large number of convicted terrorists from Israeli jails including murderers serving life sentences.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Prof. Anthony Glees, an emeritus professor at the University of Buckingham, warned that “these people are our sworn enemies. They will cut off the heads of British soldiers and kill left, right, and center.”

Looking ahead, the professor warned that these terrorists could eventually threaten the security of Western nations.

“We must not let them collect together. There can be no hiding place for these people. Otherwise, you are setting up a terrorist army in exile – it will be Hezbollah 2.0,” Glees added.

Some of the released terrorists have reportedly articulated interest in moving to Qatar and Turkey, two countries that have close ties with the terrorist organization of Hamas. Tunisia, a North African Arab state that does not recognize Israel, is reportedly a third preferred destination for some of the released Jihadists. Tunisia has previously also hosted the former headquarters of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), another terrorist organization.

The British news outlet also quoted the former Israeli intelligence operative “Guy C” who warned that “there are no restrictions on their movements in these countries... They can walk freely, travel to Europe – even the UK – receive donations from naive supporters, and gain backing from protesters who already sympathize with them.”

“The first thing these terrorists will do when they reach Turkey or Qatar is contact their associates in Gaza and the West Bank to send money and re-establish their networks. They will quickly regroup and form new terror cells,” the intelligence official assessed.

One of the terrorists who was spotted at the luxury Cairo hotel is 57-year-old Mahmoud Issa, the founder of Special Unit 101, Hamas' Izzadin al-Qassam Brigades, which focuses on kidnappings.

Hamas has a history of kidnapping Israeli and Western civilians and using them as political leverage for securing the release of jailed terrorists and other benefits. Hamas kidnapped 251 people from Israel during the Oct. 7, 2023, attack. Issa who was reportedly a close aide of the late Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, was imprisoned in 1993 but was not released in 2011 alongside Sinwar.

Sinwar, who is widely seen as the main architect behind the Oct. 7 massacre, was killed in a firefight in southern Gaza with Israeli soldiers in October 2024. Other released terrorists that were spotted at the Cairo hotel included the ISIS terrorist Izz a-Din al-Hamamrah, the bus bomb mastermind Samir Abu Nima, kidnapper Ismail Hamdan and Yousef Dawud.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office spokesperson David Mencer explained that Jerusalem reluctantly authorized the release of senior terrorists in order to secure the release of the remaining Israeli hostages held in Gaza.

“A bitter price, but one our people have paid across the ages to reclaim kin from the hands of Jew-haters,” Mencer stated.
