Economic warfare doesn’t work on martyrs
Someone needed to tell President Donald J. Trump that his latest super-punishment of economic warfare would not work on the Islamic Republic of Iran before he announced his decision to enact “the most crushing economic operation that has ever taken place against any country.”
That is because what works for normal people, who value life, does not work for others who mow down tens of thousands of their own people on the streets of Tehran. It doesn’t have any effect to those who have pledged themselves to jihad, believing that martyrdom will earn them their way into paradise. It simply will not work for Individuals devoid of a conscience.
His futile objective, just another in a long line of useless attempts to tame an unbreakable wild horse, will result in the wasted time that he could have finished off the regime through the conventional military method that always works!
Still unknown to us is why Trump does not take advantage of the massive force of fighters he brought together in and around the Middle East, a sizeable fleet and air-presence which could unleash all of the fury that he’s boasted time and again.
Instead, he incessantly repeats how Iran’s “navy is gone, their air force is destroyed, their military factories are now rubble, their currency is worthless and their country is hanging by a thread.”
None of those consequences brought this incorrigible regime to their knees. The weight of the most formidable armies and the world’s most fearsome superpower has not been able to crack this tough nut, because they refuse to surrender.
At this point, it’s nothing more than a battle of the wills. Trump, undeterred by the army that’s still standing, has decided that traditional weaponry is not his preference.
He will go the route of an Economic D-Day, as he calls it, where no business transactions will be permitted with others, lest they also become the target of severe economic sanctions. Trump’s threat to other countries is that they may “not allow their financial institutions, businesses, airports or government entities to provide any type of lifeline to Iran.”
To do so would imperil them in the same way he plans to deal with the enemy. That is to completely and utterly starve them from all means that can keep them financially afloat.
So, the question is how long can Iran survive this battle of wills? Some believe as long as it takes.
According the global Chinese television network, NTD, “Iran can survive an economic stranglehold in the short term, as intelligence assessments indicate the regime can endure a naval blockade and severe sanctions for several months without immediate collapse. However, this survival comes at a heavy cost to the nation's financial stability and its people.”
But this is a regime which cares nothing for the well-being of its people, so if they suffer, to the point of starvation, it is meaningless to the likes of the IRGC which will do whatever it takes to survive – even at the cost of losing a large chunk of their population.
Calling the new Trump plan, “U.S. economic terrorism,” Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi took to X, “predicting further US defeat, while the IRGC threatens a more destructive Iranian response if war resumes.”
And why shouldn’t he. So far, nothing has been able to defeat this foe who keeps on recharging its battery like the Energizer bunny. Which is all the more reason for why economic warfare is another bomb of an idea.
Regrettably, the nations of the world who, together, could defeat this unstoppable Persian force, if they would only unite and pool all of their military resources, simply do not see the urgency of such a move.
That is because they still refuse to believe that Iran poses a global threat to humanity. Europe, followed by Canada, Australia, the U.K. and much of the rest of the free world, has been asleep at the wheel while an invasion has taken place in their countries over the past 20-30 years.
Now, it’s too late to fight the migrant masses that are in their midst, already entrenched into the societies they have slowly taken over. To fight the enemy outside, they would first have to fight the enemy within. But how can they do that when power has already been seized through the voting booth?
Every single one of these geographic areas now have Muslims, with a caliphate agenda, in their governments. That can’t be undone! It’s like an avalanche, collecting greater force, as it comes at the citizenry. Consequently, these nations would not be interested in lending a hand to stop a renegade regime that can’t be put down.
Sad as that is, it means that the U.S. and Israel have to go it alone. As the single warriors, who understand what’s at stake, they’ll need to use every weapon in their arsenal to beat an enemy that cares nothing about living a good and prosperous life nor is frightened of death.
But for Trump’s economic warfare to work, it means that the U.S. will also have to take on countries such as Oman, China and Russia, all of whom are helping the Iranian regime to win this battle.
Between the military support and intelligence, through satellite imagery, drone technology and hardware, it gets from Russia, as well as the oil purchases made by China, which buys in excess of 80% of its oil, from Iran, both of these countries are doing their utmost to lend a lifeline.
Then there is Oman, playing the duplicitous role of impartial negotiators when, in fact, they are nothing of the sort. According to a report by the Associated Press, “Oman is in discussions that appear to be driven by Iran, which has described the talks as aiming to “develop mechanisms (fees) to ensure safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz while respecting the sovereign rights and sovereignty of both coastal states, as well as Iran’s security and national interests.”
In other words, Oman is doing Iran’s bidding, greatly angering Trump who has threatened to bomb the country whose population is only 5 million.
The U.S. cannot take on everyone, which is why Trump needs to abandon this Economic -D Day, and replace it for the real one, the reliable military option! The sooner he gets that, the faster this war will end. Isn’t that his goal?
