Why Israel must keep staying one step ahead of terror
Terror never sleeps, and Israel has to be fully awake and ready to deal with all the threats it faces from every side.
I think the biggest threat today is drones.
We have seen soldiers killed in the north because of these drones.
It was reported on ALL ISRAEL NEWS that Israel has signed a $7 million deal for an AI-driven radar system designed to detect hostile drones, to deal with this very problem.
Residents near Judea and Samaria warn FPV drones could reach central Israel. The threat is real, and the concern is real for the people of Israel.
The threat is especially worrying because of the proximity of the West Bank to Israeli communities and homes.
If you look at Bethlehem, for instance, the boundary of the city extends right up to Checkpoint 300. It is all part of the Palestinian Authority. Once you cross the checkpoint, you are basically in Jerusalem.
Gilo is close, Talpiot is close, and the center of Jerusalem is only about 7 km away from the checkpoint.
These are all potential targets for a drone attack launched from Bethlehem.
It would be very easy for Palestinians to launch drones from the Palestinian Authority city of Bethlehem. It wouldn't be all that difficult to do, but it would be very difficult to stop. You would have very little time to bring a drone down.
So I think the threat is very real and very serious.
That is why this $7 million agreement is so important.
It is another way in which Israel is dealing with the terror threats it faces.
If this system is deployed in the north and saves soldiers' lives, then it is $7 million well spent. If it can deal with any potential threat from the West Bank, then it will bring peace of mind to Israelis. Again, $7 million well spent.
Israel is always countering terror.
I asked Google how many terror threats Israel faces each week, and the reply was 4–10 significant, actionable attack warnings per week.
Israel has to be on the ball 100% of the time because what the security services are doing is saving lives.
The Ministry of National Security (which funds police, border security, and prison services) received an allocation of 28 billion shekels (approximately $8 billion USD) for 2025.
The terror threat is real, so the response has to be real.
Israel has always had to deal with one kind of threat or another.
Rockets being fired into Israel meant that Israel had to develop the Iron Dome and David's Sling.
Rockets fired from Gaza into Israel give residents only 15 seconds to find a bomb shelter. But the Iron Dome can shoot those rockets down and save lives.
We have seen car-ramming attacks, with Palestinians driving their cars into people standing at bus stops. Israel responded by putting barriers around bus stops to keep people safe.
We had bus and café/restaurant bombings, so Israel responded by building a wall around the West Bank.
Israel is constantly responding to threats and rapidly developing technology to counter them.
The AI-driven radar system by Magos Systems is an Israeli startup.
This is Israel responding to an urgent need. It will protect Israeli citizens and also enable Israel to sell this technology to other countries that recognize similar threats in the future.
Palestinians are using terror to attack Israel, but Israel is using that terror to develop systems that bless Israel and the rest of the world.
Ultimately, God is Israel's best defense.
The Bible says, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem" (Psalm 122:6). Jerusalem is a heavy stone for the nations. We have the privilege of praying for the city and the nation.
So make sure you put Israel on your prayer list, so that you too can become part of the defense of a nation.
A nation under spiritual attack because it was designed and given by God.
