Two years after Sinwar’s elimination, IDF releases letter from young son who wrote of wanting to 'shoot Jews'
On Friday, the IDF marked two years since the elimination of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar by releasing a letter written to him by his son Ibrahim at age 10. The letter, recovered by IDF soldiers in the Gaza Strip in 2024, included drawings of weapons, missiles in flight, and an IDF tank near the Gaza border.
“I want to hug you and see you victorious, and I want to proclaim ‘Allah is the greatest,’ hold a Kalashnikov, and shoot Jews,” Ibrahim wrote.
“I am constantly making pistols, tanks, and Kalashnikovs out of paper and cardboard,” he added, before expressing hope that the war would end so he could see his father and praying for Allah’s protection over him.
On the tank in the drawing, Ibrahim appears to have written in Hebrew the word “Golani,” referring to the IDF’s Golani Infantry Brigade.
