Sa’ar denounces UK ‘obsession’ with Israel over E1 settlement plans
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar accused the UK government of an “obsession” with Israel in response to its latest condemnation of settlement plans in the E1 area.
As the deadline for bids in the E1 settlement tender passed, the British Labour government condemned the plans as a “direct threat” to the two-state solution and announced “new powers” to sanction individuals and companies involved.
“The days when Israel would quietly accept threats, sanctions and attempts to dictate its policies are over,” Sa’ar wrote in a post on X, replying to the statement.
“Judea and Samaria are not foreign lands to the Jewish people,” he said. “Our historical rights are not subject to approval from London.”
