Elbit defense firm lands $235 million European 'PULS' rocket artillery deal
Israel’s defense company Elbit Systems announced on Monday that it had secured a contract worth approximately $US 235 million to supply PULS (Precise and Universal Launching System) rocket artillery systems and EXTRA-MR precision-guided rockets to an unnamed European country.
The deal, signed under a government-to-government agreement between Israel’s Ministry of Defense and its European counterpart, also includes additional rocket artillery platforms and logistical support over three years, according to Elbit.
The EXTRA-MR (Medium Range) rocket has a reported range of up to 80 kilometers (50 miles). The PULS system can launch several types of rockets and missiles from truck-mounted platforms, with ranges extending up to 300 kilometers (186 miles), depending on the munition used.
The latest contract adds to a series of European orders for PULS systems. The Netherlands, Serbia, Denmark and Germany have also ordered the launchers, while Greece signed a deal worth approximately $750 million with Elbit in April for PULS systems and related equipment.
The system offers European militaries a long-range precision-strike capability, including an alternative to the U.S.-made High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), which has been widely used by Ukrainian forces.
PULS launchers use two interchangeable pods to fire different types of munitions. These include Accular rockets with a range of approximately 35 to 40 kilometers (21 to 25 miles), EXTRA rockets with a range of up to 150 kilometers (93 miles), and Predator Hawk missiles with a range of up to 300 kilometers (186 miles). The system can be adapted to different heavy-truck platforms.
The Israel Defense Forces has operated the system since 2020 under the name Lahav, using U.S.-manufactured HEMTT heavy trucks.
Elbit Systems develops and manufactures defense technologies across multiple domains. The company employs more than 21,000 people across five continents. According to its financial disclosure, Elbit reported revenue of $2.287 billion for the three months ended June 30, 2026, and an order backlog of $32 billion as of that date.
