The left flips from ‘Warmonger!’ to ‘TACO Trump’ overnight

We’ve all heard the phrase “Damned if you do and damned if you don’t.” The earliest occurrence was (arguably) in 1817 from a letter that a subscriber wrote to Samuel Snowden, the publisher of the Alexandria Gazette, Commercial and Political newspaper in Alexandria, Virginia.

That seems to be the case with President Donald Trump. The Left staunchly opposes him at every turn no matter what he does. He could find a cure for cancer, and the Left would criticize him for eliminating countless private sector jobs in the field of cancer treatment and research!

Prior to the ceasefire with Iran, which was announced by Trump on April 7, these were some of the vile comments from the Left:

“We need to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove Trump,” said Rep. Ro Khanna, (D-CA).

"The House must pass articles of impeachment,” cried Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA).

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) chimed in with, “No President in control of his senses would publicly promise to eradicate an entire civilization.”

“Twisted and unhinged,” said Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA).

Repo. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said Trump’s “mental faculties are collapsing and cannot be trusted.”

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) asked, “When will it be enough for my Republican colleagues to grow spines and remove him from office?”

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) called the president a “maniac.”

House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) called on Congress to act “before Donald Trump plunges us into World War III.”

The Ceasefire

Then, on April 7, Trump announced this on Truth Social: “… Subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks. This will be a double sided CEASEFIRE! The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all Military objectives, and are very far along with a definitive Agreement concerning Longterm PEACE with Iran, and PEACE in the Middle East.”

The Left immediately—as if flipping a switch—went from all these types of “warmonger” comments (and worse) to a “TACO Trump campaign.” TACO being an acronym for “TRUMP ALWAYS CHICKENS OUT.”

That brings us back to “Damned if you do and damned if you don’t.” Trump will never satisfy his opponents—no matter what he does. But this reveals a larger and much more sinister root problem. It proves that these lunatics couldn’t care less about Trump’s actual policies; they just want to “get Trump.” That’s because they loathe the man. And sadly, there’s another angle for some individuals—an entire “Get Trump Industrial Complex” out there. That is, opportunities through politics, media, podcasts, and late-night “comedy” shows (although they are not funny anymore but boring political hacks) for people to make a good living by simply hating Trump and opposing everything he does.

Credit where credit is due, there were a few Democrats like Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) and Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) who told their colleagues that it was hypocritical to both demand de-escalation of the war and then mock a ceasefire.

They No Longer Consider What’s Best For the Country

The United States’ founding fathers did a phenomenal job with the founding documents, and most of us would agree that they were God-inspired, although not “God-breathed” like the Holy Scriptures. It’s not a perfect system. The God of the Bible lives outside of time, but the founding fathers were very much stuck in the 18th century. I don’t think they ever envisioned that one day members of Congress would be so evil that they would be willing to lose a war or even take down the country before letting their political opponents have a victory.

This type of opposition has been around for a long time. Yeshua (Jesus) said of His earthly generation, “But to what shall I liken this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their companions, and saying: ‘We played the flute for you, And you did not dance; We mourned to you, And you did not lament.’ For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!” (Matthew 11:16-19). Verse 19 concludes with this: “But wisdom is justified by her children.” In other words, wisdom is judged by its own fruits, regardless of what all the naysayers think about it. The Amplified Bibe puts it this way: “Wisdom is justified and vindicated by her deeds.” And a note to all of you who believe in that “bogeyman” of Christian Nationalism, I’m not comparing Trump in any way, shape, or form to Jesus! (By the way, there’s no Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, or Tooth Fairy, either.) I’m simply comparing the warped human natures of then and now. Jesus did say (to all of us), “They persecuted Me, they will also persecute you” (John 15:20).

I can’t think of a better scripture to consider when evaluating a political leader than Yeshua’s parable in Matthew 21:28-31. He told the elders and chief priests in the temple, “A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go, work today in my vineyard.’ He answered and said, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he regretted it and went. Then he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, ‘I go, sir,’ but he did not go. Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to Him, “‘The first.’” Simply put, it means we should pay less attention to what people SAY, and more attention to what they DO. That goes hand-in-hand with the aforementioned verse, “Wisdom is justified and vindicated by her deeds” (Matthew 11:19).

No matter what the Left’s personal feelings are for Trump, they should recognize that (1) decimating the nuclear capabilities of the world’s #1 sponsor of terrorism is a good thing, (2) an opportunity to bring this war to a close is also a good thing, and (3) both could prove to be good decisions. There is, after all, “A time of war, And a time of peace” (Ecclesiastes 3:8).

At the time of this writing, it appears the peace talks in Islamabad between the United States and Iran have ended without reaching an agreement. The fate of the two-week ceasefire is unclear. Please continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for the entire region and that President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu will have God’s wisdom in the coming days.
