20-year-old Israeli man injured in stabbing attack at settlement farm in Samaria

A 20-year-old Israeli man was injured in a stabbing attack at the Maoz Yehuda farm in Samaria, near the Palestinian village of Uzzarin. 

According to initial reports, the Palestinian who carried out the stabbing attack arrived near the farm, which is in Area B, in a van. He approached the young Israeli man, asked if he was armed and then stabbed him several times before the knife broke. 

Magen David Adom emergency personnel arrived on the scene, providing first aid and then transporting the man to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikvah, where he was listed in moderate to serious condition. 

The Palestinian, whose cell phone reportedly fell during the attack and was found at the scene, fled after the knife blade broke. 

The Israeli, who was stabbed, recorded a video of the attacker fleeing the scene, which was shared with Hebrew media.

Hebrew media report that the Israeli man is from the town of Migdal Ha’emek. 

The IDF began a search for the Palestinian attacker, setting up roadblocks and closing the entrances to several nearby town. 

After locating the suspect’s vehicle in the nearby town of Qabalan, IDF soldiers arrived to detain him. During the arrest, he attempted to stab one of the soldiers and was shot dead, the IDF said. 

“We were led to a farm where we found a young man, about 20 years old, conscious, suffering from stab wounds to the head, neck, and limbs,” said Magen David Adom medics Aviel Mamelia and Neria Giat. “In cooperation with an IDF medical force and together with other medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene, we provided the injured man with initial medical treatment, including stopping the bleeding, bandaging, and immobilization.” 

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the quick work of the security forces in locating and neutralizing the attacker. 

“No terrorist has a hiding place,” Netanyahu said in a statement to 𝕏. “ I strengthen our heroic fighters who sought contact and eliminated the terrorist who carried out the attack in Samaria.” 

He also wished a quick recovery to the farmer. 

“I wish a full recovery and speedy healing to the farmer who was injured in the attack,” Netanyahu wrote. “Anyone who tries to threaten the State of Israel and its citizens will pay a heavy price.” 

Meanwhile, Defense Minister Israel Katz said, “I wish a speedy recovery to man wounded in the stabbing in Samaria. The IDF will pursue and capture the terrorist.” 

“Our policy in Judea and Samaria is clear: to vigorously pursue Palestinian terrorism, to develop and strengthen Jewish settlements, and to maintain security stability,” Katz continued.

“Terrorism in Judea and Samaria is currently at its lowest level in decades, and we will take all the necessary steps to prevent terrorism from rearing its head again,” he said.

Samaria Regional Council Head Yossi Dagan called the stabbing “a very serious attack,” adding that he expects to military to conduct “a full-scale operation in the area to go door-to-door and collect weapons, to crush the infrastructure of the supporters of terrorism.” 

Last month, an Israeli reserve soldier was stabbed in the Palestinian town of al-Aujah when stopping to buy snacks at a shop along the highway.
