US-based anti-Israel groups urge activists to oppose 'Zionist war machine' targeting Iran
Anti-Israel and anti-Jewish groups in the United States are urging their supporters to oppose what they term the “Zionist war machine” against the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network blasted the U.S. and Israeli strikes and accused Jerusalem and Washington of “imperialism.”
“We urge all to mobilize emergency demonstrations in cities, communities, and campuses around the world, especially in the imperial core; to take direct actions; and to shut down the business-as-usual of the imperialist/Zionist war machine,” the group wrote.
Meanwhile, National Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) urged its supporters across the country to mobilize and “defend Iran’s sovereignty and break the Zionist war machine.”
“We understand that this is a time where our responsibility as the leading anti-imperialist force on campus is being tested,” it argued in an official statement.
“We have a duty to halt the war machine and defend the sovereignty of a country which US Zionist forces seek to dismantle in the interest of subduing our cause,” it added.
These radical groups blend classic antisemitic ideology with intense hatred against the United States and the wider Western world, which they view as “imperialists” and “racist.”
The Students for Justice in Palestine chapter in Chicago faced pushback after it welcomed an Iranian missile strike on a U.S. Navy base in Bahrain in the Persian Gulf.
A coalition describing itself as “black and brown-led NYC community organizations” went further, expressing solidarity with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and what it called the “resistance axis” — a term referring to the ayatollah regime and its regional proxies, including Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis in Yemen. The coalition said it felt “inspired by their immediate and intense strikes against Zionist forces and settlers, American soldiers and their bases in the region, and the treacherous Arab reactionary regimes aligned with the Epstein Empire.”
The coalition urged its supporters and “people of conscience to mobilize in solidarity with the Islamic Republic, to rise above symbolic solidarity, and disrupt the war machine by any means necessary.”
However, antisemitic rhetoric was not limited to the far-left groups. The Aryan Freedom Network/White Power organization urged “all White Nationalists in America to start preparing and organizing.”
“The Jews have destroyed the America First agenda, and MAGA has been controlled by Jewish Satanic pedophiles,” the Aryan Freedom Network claimed, urging its supporters to “resist this Zionist system!”
An international study published last month revealed that ideas of Jews as “powerful” play an increasingly important role in antisemitic discourse, both among left-wing and right-wing individuals in the United States and beyond. Radicals on the left view Jews as “imperialists,” whereas far-right activists claim that Jews control the United States and much of world affairs, embracing a classic antisemitic worldview.
None of the radical groups condemned the ayatollah regime that massacred tens of thousands of anti-regime protesters last month, including women and children. While the ayatollah regime uses classic anti-imperialist rhetoric, it has in practice embraced imperialism through its ambitions to control much of the Middle East and threaten its Arab neighbors and the Jewish state.
