Three children still in serious condition after detonation of unexploded Hezbollah munition in northern Israel
Three children are still in serious condition after around 24 people, mostly children, were wounded in a blast caused by a unexploded Hezbollah munition near the Lebanese border yesterday, Israeli media reported.
The explosion killed Elazar Yair Wilensky, a ninth-grader from the town of Ma’alot-Tarshiha. The Magen David Adom ambulance service initially reported that among the wounded, two were in serious condition and three in moderate condition.
The wounded were evacuated to three different hospitals. Ziv Medical Center said it is treating two children in serious condition, with one still sedated and ventilated, while eleven out of fourteen wounded who had been admitted, were released.
One child is being treated in the pediatric intensive care unit of the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya but no longer sedated or ventilated. Seven other children are being treated for shrapnel wounds in the hospital's pediatric orthopedic unit.
Haifa’s Rambam Health Care Campus reported that it is treating three children and one adult who are in stable and moderate condition.
