Report: Trump, Netanyahu spoke amid possibility of renewed strikes on Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump spoke by phone with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday morning, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the call. The conversation took place as the United States prepares for the possibility of renewed strikes on Iran, as Washington coordinates with its Middle East ally.

The Trump-Netanyahu call came just days after Trump met at the White House with U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) commander Adm. Brad Cooper to discuss possible military scenarios in the region, as previously reported by the newspaper.

Meanwhile, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a Halloween party at Mar-a-Lago, Trump said negotiations with Iran were “going fine,” but expressed doubts about Tehran’s reliability.

“They are going fine. But, you know, like they're not very reliable. I will tell you. They make a deal and then they back out. I want to make a deal. We'll see if they make a deal,” Trump said.

Trump also indicated that the United States was in no hurry to resume military action against Iran, saying, “We're not in that much of a hurry.”
