Netanyahu says he warned Macron on Oct 7 that Hamas could reach Paris
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the riots in France in a Monday interview with Channel 14 News, recalling that he rejected French President Emmanuel Macron’s proposal for a diplomatic solution during a call on Oct. 7 and warned that Hamas’s threat could spread to France if it was not stopped.
“If we don’t stop Hamas here, you’ll see them on the streets of Paris,” he said he warned the French president at the time.
According to Netanyahu, “that’s exactly what is happening right now.”
Netanyahu suggested that the unrest could “foster a change in the political makeup of France,” adding that a right-wing government could improve ties with Israel.
