More than 50,000 Israelis expected to return home to vote in pivotal upcoming elections
More than 50,000 Israelis living abroad are expected to return to Israel to vote in the upcoming elections Oct. 27, according to the Aid Coalition, a U.S.-based organization advocating for Israeli democracy.
Unlike the U.S., Israel is among a small number of democracies that do not allow most citizens abroad to vote from overseas. The expected influx of returning voters has raised concern within PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s political bloc, amid the departure of tens of thousands of Israelis during his latest term.
