Bennett and Lapid's 'Together' party to recommend Eisenkot be tasked with forming next gov't
Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid's Together (Beyachad) party officially announced it will recommend President Isaac Herzog to nominate Gadi Eisenkot as the first candidate tasked with forming the next government at the consultations with Herzog next Wednesday.
"At the instruction of former Prime Minister and chairman of the 'Beyachad' party, Naftali Bennett, the faction will recommend to the President of the State that Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of 'Yashar,' be the candidate tasked with forming the government," the party announced.
"Former Prime Minister Bennett made clear throughout the entire election campaign that he would respect the voters’ decision, and that is what he is doing. Former Prime Minister Bennett informed Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of Yashar!, of his decision."
Together is the first party to announce its preferred candidate since the elections last Tuesday.
