230 Haredi men expected to enlist in IDF as ultra-Orthodox protest continues
According to Israel's Channel 12 News, approximately 230 Haredi men are expected to enlist in the IDF today, despite an ongoing ultra-Orthodox protest outside the Tel Hashomer military base, where demonstrators are reportedly attempting to intimidate arriving recruits.
Police said the protest has led to road closures in the area and that officers are using crowd-control measures to manage the demonstration.
“Despite attempts to engage in dialogue, the rioters continue to congregate at the site, confronting police officers and shouting terms such as ‘Nazis’ and ‘terrorists’ at them,” police say, according to the Times of Israel.
