With great power comes great irresponsibility: Marvel stars are wrong to support Marwan Barghouti
With great power comes great responsibility. That is what Ben Parker, the father of Peter Parker (Spider-Man), said to his son.
And it is very true.
Today, if you have fame, then you have a responsibility to use your fame wisely, because people admire and look up to you.
That is why it is sad to see an article on ALL ISRAEL NEWS about Marvel actors putting their support behind Marwan Barghouti.
More than 200 Hollywood personalities, including over 20 actors from the globally popular Marvel Cinematic Universe, have signed a petition demanding that Israel release convicted Palestinian terrorist Marwan Barghouti.
It's so stupid and enough to make the Incredible Hulk angry. And believe me, you don't want to make him angry, because you won't like him when he gets angry.
Why on earth are these actors supporting a convicted terrorist?
It really doesn't make sense.
My Spidey senses tell me that this is just plain wrong.
It's like a web of deceit has come over them, where they cannot see the difference between right and wrong.
It is like Spider-Man deciding to become friends with the Green Goblin or Doctor Octopus. You just don't do it.
Spider-Man fights evil and is on the side of good, so why have these actors decided to join evil?
Did you not learn anything from the movies?
I can imagine a world today where these actors would be shouting for Hitler to be released. It is so deranged.
We are all supposed to be superheroes and fight crime, not encourage it. What sort of testimony is this to the little boy or little girl who watches the Marvel movies, sees the heroic acts, watches evil being conquered and right winning over wrong, only to then see that same actor supporting a convicted terrorist?
They are using their great power to be irresponsible.
Today, we need to stand as an Iron Man (or Woman). Stand in truth, righteousness and justice. Support what is right and honest, and don't jump on the latest trend of what is popular.
The Bible says in Isaiah 5:20:
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil,
who put darkness for light and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. NKJV
Calling for the release of someone like Marwan Barghouti is calling evil good.
He is not good. He is a terrorist, he is an arch-terrorist and should be staying in prison for his crimes.
As these actors turn away from common sense, surely it is only a matter of time before they become X-Men and Women.
