Israel’s oil spill breakthrough shows how the Jewish state continues to be a light to the nations
Oil is very important to a country.
We are seeing how the movement of oil is being used as a weapon in the war between America and Iran. The price of oil has gone up, which affects everyone financially because oil is so important.
Oil moves everything, so if the price of oil goes up, then everything goes up, even the cost of your local shopping.
But oil production is tiny in Israel, accounting for just 0.0007% to 0.016% of total global production.
Even though oil production in Israel is so small, Israel is again being a light and a beacon of hope to the oil industry. And because Israel produces so little oil, this is something that will benefit the world, the ecology and nature rather than the Jewish nation.
I recently read in ALL ISRAEL NEWS that Israeli researchers have developed a cellulose-based aerogel that can absorb large amounts of oil and other hydrocarbons while also helping bacteria break down the pollutants, potentially offering a faster and more comprehensive way to clean up oil spills. Researchers from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev’s Environmental Biotechnology Laboratory say the material can absorb about 100 times its own weight in oil-based substances, including motor oil, jet fuel, gasoline and kerosene.
This is excellent news for the industry and the environment.
I think we have all seen the devastating pictures on TV when there has been an oil spill and rescuers come down and try to save the birds and wildlife that get caught up in it. Birds, animals and fish covered in black oil – it is heartbreaking.
The total amount of oil spilled in 2025 was approximately 4,000 tons.
So this is a very important mission that Israeli researchers are on, one that protects our planet and its beautiful wildlife.
I have been down to Eilat and seen the beautiful coral and fish at the Underwater Observatory. It is a wonderful place to visit, but just imagine if an oil tanker had an accident and spilled its cargo off the shore of Eilat. That would be devastating. So anything that helps with the cleanup and recovery is a blessing.
I wonder if the pro-Palestinian mob thinks about these things when they are out on the streets protesting. Do they actually look at the many different ways in which Israel is being a light to the nations?
In medicine, technology, the environment and water technology, there are so many ways in which Israel is being a light to the nations – including when disaster strikes the environment and nature.
This cleanup development has come at a time when the world is in trouble.
Iran targeted an oil tanker in Saudi Arabia, and America has targeted three Iranian oil tankers. Could it be only a matter of time before disaster strikes and this Israeli innovation is needed to save the planet and the environment? Could it be that this innovation was ready for such a time as this?
As Israel is ready to respond to an environmental disaster, may it be anointed with the oil of joy. May Israel clean up the environment as the Maccabees cleansed the Temple, and may the oil be lit with a flame of hope rather than despair.
Israel, your lamp is shining bright. May you continue to be a light unto the nations in many ways and be filled with the oil of joy.
