Islam in the West: A stern warning and a call to return to Christ

Introduction
The West enjoys a level of freedom and prosperity that much of the world can only dream of. Yet, this very freedom has made it vulnerable to a serious and growing threat: Islam. Islam is not simply a personal belief system—it is a comprehensive religious, social, and political framework that seeks influence in every area of life. As Ayaan Hirsi Ali warns, the West dangerously underestimates the reach and ambition of radical Islam, wrongly assuming that tolerance alone will neutralize it.
This naïve tolerance leaves our youth open to ideas that challenge core Western values and erode the moral foundation of society. What we need now is not just awareness—but a return to Christ, who alone offers true spiritual protection and salvation.
As someone who was once a Muslim and is now a follower of Jesus Christ, I do not write this from the outside. I have lived within Islam. I have seen both the beauty of its devotion and the bondage of its teachings. And I have come to know the freedom and life that only Jesus offers. My warning is not political—it is deeply personal.
Islam as a Tool for Control
Radical Islam does not stop at personal worship or individual belief. It aims to establish systems of social and political control wherever it gains a foothold. Extremist movements in the West are increasingly working to:
• Recruit vulnerable youth searching for identity and belonging,
• Spread ideologies that directly contradict Western ideals of freedom and equality,
• Gradually influence political and cultural institutions through manipulation and pressure.
Ayaan Hirsi Ali strongly emphasizes that the West’s excessive and uncritical tolerance has allowed radical Islam to grow and spread without resistance.
“Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from Him.” — Psalm 62:2
Real-World Examples
In the East:
• Converting from Islam to another faith is forbidden—and often punishable by law.
• Apostasy may result in imprisonment or even death.
• Missionary activity and the construction of churches are strictly limited or outright banned.
In the West:
• Youth across Europe have been recruited online into extremist groups.
• Attempts have been made to impose Islamic dress codes and social behaviors in schools and neighborhoods.
• Radical Islamic activists have gained political influence in various Western cities, often using the language of human rights to mask authoritarian goals.
These examples reveal a consistent pattern: radical Islam does not stop at religious practice—it seeks to dominate social and political life whenever it is allowed to grow unchecked.
Returning to Christ: The Spiritual Solution
While education and critical thinking are essential, they are not enough to stand against deception. True protection comes only through Christ. He offers not only moral guidance, but the strength of His Spirit and truth:
• His teachings emphasize love, grace, truth, and courage.
• His presence guards the hearts and minds of young people from the pull of false ideologies.
• A Christ-centered life forms the foundation of a society built on justice, compassion, and spiritual integrity.
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” — John 14:6
I know from personal experience that Jesus Christ offers what Islam never could: peace with God, assurance of salvation, and the transforming power of grace. I followed the rules of religion for years, but I never knew the Savior. Now, having come to know Christ, I cannot stay silent while others are led into darkness.
Hirsi Ali urges the West to awaken and defend its foundational values. I would add: it is not just values that must be defended—but souls that must be saved. And that begins by returning to the One who gives life.
How Western Society Can Protect Itself Through Christ
Spiritual and critical education from early childhood: Teach children to recognize truth, think critically, and grow in Christian faith.
Monitoring religious extremism with discernment: Identify and prevent radical ideologies from manipulating religious freedom.
Engaging with moderate Muslims carefully: Build relationships without falling into political naïveté or harmful stereotypes.
Living out Christian values daily: Demonstrate Christ’s love, forgiveness, and courage through action.
Supporting Christian and civic organizations: Invest in churches, youth ministries, and social efforts that build strong, faith-based communities.
Relying on Scripture for truth and strength: Encourage personal Bible study and discipleship to deepen spiritual understanding.
An Evangelical Call
The need for a return to Christ is urgent. This is not just moral advice—it is a call for spiritual salvation and societal survival. Christ alone offers the power to guard hearts and minds against the darkness of deception. In Him alone is found true peace, freedom, and hope.
“Let us hold firmly to Christ, for He alone delivers us from sin and darkness, granting eternal life.”
Before the Conclusion
This is not about hatred. It’s about truth. It’s about love.
I love my former people. I pray for Muslims to come to know the Savior as I have. I long for them to discover that they do not have to strive for God’s approval—because in Jesus, God has already reached down in love.
I was once in darkness. Now I live in the light. And I invite you—before it’s too late—to come to the light as well.
Conclusion
The West has freedom, technology, and education—but these alone are not enough to withstand the rise of radical Islam. This warning is not optional—it is necessary, and it must be taken seriously before it is too late.
Returning to Christ is the only way to build a society grounded in truth, mercy, love, and spiritual strength. Now more than ever, we must cling to Christ, spread His Gospel, and protect future generations from the lies that threaten to destroy both soul and society.
Final Note from the Author
Written by a former Muslim, now redeemed by the grace of Jesus Christ. Not out of hatred, but out of love—for Muslims, for the Church, and for the West. Jesus Christ is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. He saved me. He can save you too.

Abdel-massih (Servant of the Messiah) grew up in the West Bank in a Muslim family before finding Jesus and becoming a disciple. He has been a follower of Jesus for several years.
Abdel-massih is not his real name, as revealing his identity at this time would be dangerous to himself and his family.
