Israel’s warning to US: Hezbollah regains strength in Lebanon, hundreds of rockets were transferred through Syria
Israel has warned the U.S. security apparatus that Hezbollah has managed to smuggle hundreds of rockets from Syria, restore damaged rockets and launchers, and recruit thousands of new operatives in recent weeks, despite the Lebanese government’s decision to disarm the organization, Kan News reported Saturday.
According to the report, in recent days Israel has communicated through the Americans with the Lebanese Armed Forces, sending a message regarding the continuation of strikes in Lebanon: “You are not taking sufficient action against Hezbollah – neither at the necessary pace nor scale,” the message said.
“Without significant activity in rural areas and against private assets, Israel will continue to strike forcefully.”
Over the past month, Israel has attacked more than 25 targets in southern Lebanon, including a strike on Hezbollah’s strategic “Kashmir” site, which is used for rocket production.
Since the ceasefire took effect in November last year, 340 Hezbollah militants have been killed.
Three Hezbollah operatives were killed in the past 24 hours.
