Hundreds of Korean Christians gather in central Seoul to chant 'Am Israel Chai'

Marking the second anniversary of the war with Hamas, hundreds of Korean Christians assembled in the country’s capital city of Seoul to declare “Am Israel Chai.”
Last Saturday, the large crowd of believers gathered for an event near the Israeli Embassy in central Seoul to show their support for Israel.
This was the second large-scale event held following the gathering held in Seoul last year. This year’s event was held to commemorate the second anniversary of the Hamas invasion.
Pastor Kim Dong-gu spearheaded the coalition of churches loving Israel, while Brad TV, a Korean YouTube channel specializing in Israel, actively supported the event through promotion and planning.
However, at the heart of the event was the ‘National Solidarity for Israel’ group, which has been chanting support for Israel every weekend in the streets since the Hamas war began, and its representative, Pastor Jeon Geon-guk.
After the Hamas war began, Pastor Geon-guk, unable to bear the witnessing of “Free Palestine” rallies erupting across Seoul, the anti-Israel banners hung directly in front of the Israeli Embassy, and the growing anti-Israel sentiment, took to the streets of Seoul alone with a picket sign to stage a one-person protest.

People who shared his conviction began to join him, and the group “National Solidarity for Israel” was formed as the numbers increased.
To mark the first anniversary of Oct. 7 last year, and to spread the movement, Director Kim Jong-cheol of Brad TV sought Pastor Kim Dong-gu's cooperation and proposed that multiple churches could jointly hold the first-anniversary event together. Pastor Kim Dong-gu readily agreed and played a central role in uniting churches like Zoe Ministry Church Network, Chamjon Church, and Songdo Jusarang Church to host the event.
The Korean church submits the following prayer request to believers worldwide:
“While there are Christians who love Israel like this, they remain a minority. Many churches and Christians fail to see Israel's true situation with clarity. Worse, some of them are deceived by Hamas's propaganda into supporting and participating in rallies which back Palestine and Hamas. We ask you to pray that God will open the eyes of the Korean church and Christians, enabling them to see Israel with God's heart toward Israel.”
