The Egyptian national – who overstayed his visa and has been in the U.S. illegally – injured a dozen people in Boulder, Colorado, on Sunday. According to an FBI affidavit filed on Monday, he had begun planning the attack a year earlier and expressed a desire to “kill all Zionist people.”

“He stated that he wanted to kill all Zionist people and wished they were all dead,” the affidavit stated of attacker Mohamed Sabry Soliman.

“Soliman stated that he hated the Zionist group and did this because he hated this group and needed to stop them from taking over ‘our land,’ which he explained to be Palestine. He stated that he had been planning the attack for a year and was waiting until after his daughter graduated to conduct the attack.”

Soliman has been charged with attempted murder at the state level. He has also been charged with a hate crime at the federal level.

U.S. President Donald Trump responded to the attack on Truth Social yesterday.

“Yesterday’s horrific attack in Boulder, Colorado, WILL NOT BE TOLERATED in the United States of America,” he wrote. “He came in through Biden’s ridiculous Open Border Policy, which has hurt our Country so badly…This is yet another example of why we must keep our Borders SECURE, and deport Illegal, Anti-American Radicals from our Homeland. My heart goes out to the victims of this terrible tragedy, and the Great People of Boulder, Colorado!”

Israeli president Isaac Herzog also put out a statement about the attack.

“This vile act of terror is a painful reminder that antisemitism knows no borders,” Herzog wrote. “But let me be clear: we will never let terror win. The American and Israeli peoples stand united – determined to bring all our hostages home and to ensure no Jew, anywhere, stands alone.”
