Earthquake felt across the country of Israel, epicenter located near Crete
Tremors in Israel measured between 2.0 and 2.3 in magnitude

An earthquake was felt in many areas across Israel, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
At the same time, reports emerged of an earthquake being felt in Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt.
According to the Geological Institute of Israel, the tremors in Israel measured between 2.0 and 2.3 in magnitude.
The Mediterranean Seismological Center reported that the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.1 and occurred at a depth of 83 km (about 52 miles) below the surface of the Mediterranean Sea, in the Karpathos region near Crete.
Last March, an earthquake measuring a magnitude of 4.3 occurred 16 km (about 10 miles) southeast of Nuweiba in Egypt, and was felt in the area of Israel's southernmost city, Eilat.
