Will it come down to MAGA or Israel?

It wasn’t that long ago that the vast majority of American Jews were registered Democrats, whose political loyalties were aligned with the party they thought accepted everyone for who they are.

Who would have guessed that they got excluded from the long list of embraced minorities? Some went Independent while others turned to the Republican party, noting Trump’s strong commitment to Israel.

After all, he moved the American Embassy to its rightful place of Jerusalem, helped us take out Iran’s nuclear capabilities and was instrumental in freeing the hostages.

Promising to protect Jewish students and faculty from the antisemitism spreading throughout campuses, he threatened to remove government funding from those institutions which did nothing to change the atmosphere.

Abandoning their Jewish constituency, the Democratic party replaced them with the new Woke, anti-Israel crowd, who saw the Jewish state as part of the oppressor class, guilty of war crimes and even genocide.

So, the choice to switch party affiliation was a no-brainer. But what happens when there are elements of the other party who are also moving away from their once steadfast and immovable loyalties towards the land they swore to uphold?

Though painful to say, it’s as if a new viral strain has invaded a segment of the MAGA movement. Those infected see support for Israel as being in opposition with the America First agenda – a policy which some believe should not extend help to anyone except U.S. citizens.

But such thinking fails to take into consideration that a big part of a strong and enduring America must include fighting all foreign enemies whose goal is to take her down. Whether the objective is to destroy from within or from a distance, those foes are wholly committed to the end of the land of the free and the home of the brave.

If anyone doubts that, just listen to Congresswomen Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Alexandria Ocasio Cortes, Pramila Jayapal or Senator Bernie Sanders. They are just a small percentage amongst a much larger segment of leaders who look at America as a corrupt country filled with rot and decay which has to be recreated in their preferred image.

And while most native-born Americans see them as distinct anomalies, who offer nothing positive, there are also those on the MAGA side of the aisle who have either already turned off on Israel or are beginning to change their tune, based on the liability they now see her to be.

It's been painful to watch conservatives, such as well-known American commentator Tucker Carlson, come to the conclusion that supporting Israel is evil. To hear it from him, financial support or any other cooperative partnership, in the fight against terrorism, are all wasted endeavors which do not directly benefit the U.S.

In fact, Carlson sees them as draining American time and money, two assets which could be better spent on their own people. He, unfortunately, misses the enormous terror threat which, if not completely crushed, will, later on, massively deplete American resources a hundred-fold in comparison to allowing Israel to finish that job now.

It's a matter of extreme ignorant disbelief which deliberately chooses not to recognize the perilous danger within striking distance of the world’s superpower.  After all, taking down America would be the mother of all prizes!

It’s simply beyond comprehension how such an obvious threat, accompanied by numerous, unmistakable warning signs is not given more gravity and seriousness, in light of daily attacks occurring throughout the world, signaling that life has dramatically changed.

Nonetheless, there is a growing number of conservatives who are finding many reasons to no longer befriend Israel, and many of them are from the MAGA movement which, ironically, is committed to the values of God, family and country – all elements you’d think they’d want to preserve.

Today, Tucker Carlson, for some unexplainable reason, lines up more closely to antisemites such as Nick Fuentes, Candace Owens, Kanye West and others who see Israel and the Jewish people as “the problem.”

Like Tucker, hardly anyone has promoted traditional values of MAGA more than the Heritage Foundation, an American right-wing think tank and leading voice in the Republican Party. So, it was unthinkable that their president, Kevin Roberts would shift his loyalties from that of the company he represents, vigorously defending his “close friend” Tucker, who recently interviewed Nick Fuentes, stating that criticism of Carlson came from a “venomous coalition attacking, sowing division in an attempt to cancel him.”

Roberts, has since “admitted that he had made a mistake on the issue of antisemitism.” Although calling out Fuentes’s remarks as abhorrent, he stopped short at condemning Tucker who gave him a platform.

As a result of those sentiments, Rabbi Dr. Mark Goldfeder, a prominent lawyer and CEO director of the National Jewish Advocacy Center, resigned from being part of a task force with the Heritage Foundation, stating that “he cannot serve under someone who thinks Nazis are worth debating.”

Former Trump advisor Stephen Moore also resigned from his senior visiting fellow position, and more resignations are expected.

Will the influential Heritage Foundation cause others to rethink their own loyalties towards Israel? What impact will the once extremely popular host of Tucker Carlson Tonight have on his die-hard fans?

And what affect will Carlson’s son, Buckley have on JD Vance who recently hired him to be his deputy press secretary? Will his father’s positions make their way to the American Vice-President who recently failed to address a libelous charge of ethnic cleansing against Israel, posed to him by a questioner who made the accusation at a Turning Point USA gathering in Ole Miss?

Explaining that the U.S. has mutual matters of interest with Israel, justifying a connection between the two, he fell short of a full-throated pledge of support.

History has often proven that, sadly, there’s a short shelf life to friendship with Jews who inevitably are seen as a liability. These troubling indications lead to the question - will it eventually come down to making a choice between MAGA or Israel?
