This nation is worth defending — Everyone must do their part
In a time of war, we all pull together. It's important that we have unity.
When a rocket strikes an area, we all feel the hurt and we all feel the pain, knowing that it could have happened to us.
So it is important to be there for the cleanup, helping in whatever way possible.
That is what you do in a time of war—come together as a nation.
Our brave soldiers are fighting a war, not knowing if today will be their last day.
They are putting themselves on the line for us, which reminds me of the scripture from John 15:13:
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” (NKJV)
Soldiers are laying down their lives for our freedom. We owe them our gratitude. If they weren't there, another October 7th could happen, and we would be defenseless.
It was interesting to read in All Israel News recently that a warning was being sounded.
The IDF chief made a highly unusual call to the political leadership on Wednesday, warning that the military is buckling under the weight of its operations and is lacking thousands of soldiers.
“Right now, the IDF needs a conscription law, a reserve duty law, and a law to extend mandatory service,” he was quoted as saying. “Before long, the IDF will not be ready for its routine missions and the reserve system will not last.”
The burden must be great on the IDF at the moment, and on the reservists.
You work and have family life, and then you are called out for another tour in reserve duty. This puts huge stress and burden on the wife in the family.
Children are missing their father, a wife is worried, and parents are concerned for their son.
It is a very difficult time for families all over Israel right now, with sons fighting in war.
Israel is still in Gaza, fighting on the northern border, and the air force is operating in Iran.
This is a huge strain on the country's resources.
It is the time now when everyone should pull together.
You shouldn't have just one group of people fighting in the war and another at home doing nothing.
Everyone should do their bit to defend the country.
Apart from health reasons, there really is no reason why everyone should be a part of defending the country.
We all benefit from wonderful Israel.
We have jobs, earn a wage, maybe have a retirement plan, and use the hospital when needed.
We have freedom of religion and freedom of speech.
All this should be defended.
It is everyone's duty to do their part.
We are seeing more and more hostility around the world when it comes to Jews.
Ambulances burned in London, Jews murdered in Bondi, killings in Washington.
The world isn't safe anymore for Jews.
So imagine if there wasn't an Israel to escape to.
It would be a disaster. Imagine if Israel was gone because nobody thought it was worthy of defending.
Love God and love your country.
Defend your country—especially Israel, because it is what God gave you.
Israel is the only country in the world that has been given by God to the Jewish people.
So Jews should treasure that fact and defend it with all their might.
I see in the Bible that Nehemiah had the right idea.
God brought him back to Jerusalem to rebuild the walls.
His mandate was to build the defenses.
He got everyone involved; everyone was motivated.
He had people building their own small section. If you have to build the wall next to your own house, you are going to do a good job, because you want to defend your own property.
In one hand, they worked on construction of the wall, and with the other hand, they held a weapon—working together for the defense of the city.
This nation is worth defending, so everyone needs to pull together for the glory of Israel and the Jewish people.
