The Hebron crime: When violence reveals the nature of a society

In one of the villages near the city of Hebron, a crime occurred that exposes just how far a human being can fall when they reject God and follow their corrupt heart.

Palestinian child with disabilities was beaten, tortured, and tied with iron chains by his uncles — the very people who were supposed to protect him.
This was not just violence. It was inhuman. It was demonic. It was real — and it was filmed.

But why are we surprised?

Isn’t this the natural fruit of a society that has rejected Godrejected truth, and refused to submit to the Lord Jesus Christ?
A society bound by tribal customs, consumed by violence and hatred, and obsessed with dominance — even over the weakest of the weak.

As a Christian follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, I must say it plainly:
What happened is not just a humanitarian tragedy. It is a spiritual and moral indictment of Palestinian society. Not just of the perpetrators, but of the cultural environment that allowed such a thing to happen — and stay hidden — for years.

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)

Yes, the issue is deeper than this single crime.
The issue is the condition of the Palestinian heart — trained in vengeance, authority, and male dominance, rather than mercy, justice, and submission to God.

A Society That Glorifies Power, Not Mercy

Are we shocked by the abuse of a disabled child?

This is a society where manhood is defined by control.
Where women are shamed.
Where the poor are ignored.
Where the disabled are seen as burdens, not as bearers of God’s image.

Where were the neighbors? The relatives? The village? The organizations?

They were silent.
Because silence has become a culture.
Indifference a lifestyle.
And fear of “shame” is greater than fear of God.

The True Fruit of Separation from God’s Word

There is no peace without truth.
And there is no justice without the authority of God’s Word.

This society, tragically, does not submit to the authority of Scripture or the lordship of Jesus Christ.
It openly rejects Him and mocks everything He represents.

So, what is the result?

  • Children are tortured in silence.

  • Women are beaten in the name of "honor."

  • The weak are crushed by the powerful.

  • And truth is replaced by appeasement.

“In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” (Judges 21:25)

This is the condition of many today.

Religion Without Repentance Cannot Save

Many in this society believe they are religious.
They pray. They fast. They praise God.

But the Lord does not look at outward rituals — He looks at the heart.

“These people honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.” (Matthew 15:8)

The truth is: Many reject Christ, His grace, and His salvation.

And then they ask:

  • Why are our children abused?

  • Why is our society full of corruption?

  • Why is there no peace or blessing?

The answer is painfully clear:
Because you are far from God.

This Society Will Not Be Changed by Politics — Only by the Gospel

O Palestinian,
Your tribe will not save you.
Your government will not save you.
International organizations will not save you.

Only true repentance before the Lord, personal faith in Jesus Christ, and spiritual rebirth will save you.

“If the Son sets you free, you shall be free indeed.” (John 8:36)

Without Christ, your life — and your society — will remain trapped in a cycle of injustice, poverty, violence, and hatred.

Final Call: Repent!

I say these things not out of hatred, but out of true love.
No one is your real friend unless they tell you the truth.

“God now commands all people everywhere to repent, having overlooked the times of ignorance.” (Acts 17:30)

Abdel-massih (Servant of the Messiah) grew up in the West Bank in a Muslim family before finding Jesus and becoming a disciple. He has been a follower of Jesus for several years.
Abdel-massih is not his real name, as revealing his identity at this time would be dangerous to himself and his family.
