The antidote for Jew hatred – teach the young

If you’ve ever wondered why the very toxic virus of Jew hatred, prevalent in today’s world, has especially infected young people, the answer is simple. It’s a bad case of ignorance and the lack of desire to be informed. 

According to a new report released by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), it was discovered that “a single 45-minute classroom lesson on contemporary antisemitism can significantly reduce teenagers’ endorsement of antisemitic conspiracy theories and tropes.”

Wow! What a revelation! Who would have thought that presenting individuals with facts, credible information and documented research might actually get them to see the truth, resulting in abandoning rumors, unreliable social media and other sources of bad information?

Amazingly, educating youth actually works! In this case, the experiment occurred in nine middle and high schools, throughout a sizeable portion of the southeastern area of the U.S.

After just one lesson, students who sat in on the class “were 14.4% more likely to reject Jewish tropes, such as Jews having too much power,” or the dual-loyalty claim, causing others to believe they are less loyal to their countries of birth. 

Other well-known stereotypes discussed in these lessons, caused students to reconsider the negative things they’d previously heard about Jewish people. Interestingly enough, it didn’t matter if the lesson was given in-person, in a classroom setting, or online. Both formats yielded positive outcomes. 

Of course, if proper education was available to students, it would, almost surely, make a great difference in attitudes, not to mention reducing the numbers of protests on campuses throughout the U.S. and abroad. 

Think of how great it would be to see the anger subside as well as Jewish students being viewed positively by their non-Jewish peers.  Imagine the change in climate, which has hit an all-time low, causing Jews to feel alienated, intimidated, threatened and bullied. 

There is no doubt that education is the antidote to this unjustified hatred that’s being fostered by those who have no basis to back up their accusations or blame. What has become a fashionable trend has been picked up by others who believe what they’ve heard is factual, when, in truth, it’s nothing more than a smear.

Sadly, this is how justice becomes perverted - corrupted by unsubstantiated claims that stick and then cause great harm to the one being castigated. It’s as if someone is pronounced guilty without ever having had their day in court. And, in many ways, that is what has happened to Jews worldwide ever since that fateful day of October 7.

Think about it. The event, itself, has ended up being judged by those who were neither present nor had firsthand knowledge of what took place. Using the lie that Israel was established on Palestinian land, it became all too easy to portray a brutal massacre of innocents, explaining it as overdue payback for occupying Arab land.

Of course, such a viewpoint completely ignores the 1947 U.N. partition vote where the majority of global nations agreed to the establishment of a Jewish homeland, shared together with the Arabs. Laughingly, it was the original two-state solution.  

When Arabs refused the partition plan, they either voluntarily left, thinking that once the Jews were defeated, they’d return, while others, alternatively, set out to wage war against the fledgling state.  

But history has documented that no one stole anything.  Jews were officially granted a place in their ancestral homeland, but how many young people are aware of these facts or choose to avail themselves of what has been recorded?

Sadly, getting informed only serves to undermine the Woke narrative which is based on fabricated and libelous versions that further Jew hatred. Consequently, staying ignorant is their best course of action.

But make no mistake. It reduces those ignorant people to a lynch mob mentality, where discussion is unnecessary, because the verdict has already been handed down. That’s when you know that what we are confronting, these days, is a throwback from a more primitive era, where measured reason and open-mindedness were in short supply.

Perhaps, one of the greatest ironies is that so many of today’s antisemites are, in fact, well-educated people, whose teaching was more of an indoctrination, designed to get them to believe invented facts that are not supported by history.

Sadly, it was actually their dishonest education that led them to accept a very maligned portrayal of Jews, where they came from and how they ended up with their own homeland.  

Unlike the accurate and historical information, which these middle school and high-school students received, the education goal of today’s haters has been to infect them with contempt for Jews and their ancestral Biblical homeland. 

It worked, birthing an entire generation of brainwashed youth, who allowed themselves to be programmed, without every questioning if what they were being taught bore any resemblance to the truth.

Luckily, the ADL stuck to their guns when it comes to their belief that “education is one of the most powerful tools in the fight against antisemitism and hate, as this research confirms.”  

By using a variety of methods, including “survivor testimony, group discussion and reflection to introduce students to antisemitism, as a recurring pattern of stereotypes and conspiracy beliefs, rather than a topic confined to the Holocaust,” a productive pathway has been created to capture young minds before they reach a point of no return.

This experiment shows that there is hope.  If each school were to adopt this same program, the results would impact for future generations!  It would mean an end to the willful ignorance and mind control, accounting for the manipulation taking place by malevolent educators, influencers and social media.

Imagine, if the effect of one session has the ability to change minds, to the point of abandoning the lockstep trend of other peers, just think what a month-long series could accomplish.  

It might be responsible for an entirely new outlook when it comes to the modern State of Israel and all of the breakthroughs and advances it has offered the world.  

That is why the only antidote for stopping the ever-growing ugly sentiment, towards Israel and the Jews, is through honest and accurate education, started at an early age.  

Schools that refuse such a program will be doing their students a great disservice and only furthering Jewish hatred to the next generation.
