Americans: Get informed or lose your freedoms

If you are one of the many uninformed Americans who, up until now has avoided educating yourself on worldwide events, you might believe Aber Kawas’ claim that Israel was responsible for a Gazan genocide.

If your next question is, “Who the heck is Aber Kawas?” it might interest you to know that she is a Palestinian-American Muslim who just won the New York State Senate primary in the 12th district of the borough of Queens. 

Born in N.Y. to Palestinian parents, Kawas’, ran on the phrase, “We are trying to stand up for humans.” Who would be against that? What may be less known about Kawas, is that her political vision extends to radically changing the immigration system as we know it, as well as her association with CAIR, a highly controversial Muslim organization, been accused of having connections with the Hamas terror group.

Also likely obscured was her downplayed comment on the tragic events of 9/11, described by her as a terror attack that a “couple people did.”

Regrettably, too many, among the electorate, are not informed enough to make a good choice when casting their vote, accounting for last week’s sweeping win of Democratic Socialists, including the likes of Aber Kawas, a clear antisemite.

Few would be prepared to take on her Israel genocide accusation, and that is because they, themselves have not researched the issue or delved into the super-charged accusations, blaming the Jewish state for a systematic and deliberate killing of Gaza citizens.

It’s all too easy to run with the word of an official candidate who “surely must know what she’s talking about.” But does she? According to the American Jewish Congress, “Aber Kawas does not offer unique, independent evidence for her accusations of genocide in Gaza. Instead, her public statements rely on the broader political rhetoric and arguments frequently used by progressive advocacy groups and international critics.”  

Just a few days ago, a new UN inquiry stated that “Israel deliberately targeted and killed Palestinian children as part of a strategy to destroy the biological continuity of the Palestinians in Gaza.”

After reading those startling headlines, which are meant to shock the conscience, important details might get lost in the shuffle. But the article goes on to enumerate the many inconsistencies in the report, including the definition of children as being those under the age of 18. That would include 16- and 17-year-old armed Hamas recruits, who were killed but numbered among the “innocent children” who died as collateral damage.

The report also addresses the command centers used by Hamas, such as homes, hospitals and schools, obviously imperiling children, significantly increasing the chances of their deaths. 

There is so much more worth reading if you really want to be informed and educated on the facts, as opposed to regurgitating a bombshell accusation, lacking any context and detailed explanation.

Sadly, this is what will bring America down! If everyday citizens are unwilling to learn the truth about what is being said by dishonest candidates, whose goal is to remake America into a collective socialist-governed country where freedoms are seized by those in power, under the guise of equity, then they will, indeed, live to see that day.

It will result in the loss of a lifestyle they have taken for granted for far too long.  The liberties, bequeathed to them by those who fought and gave up their lives for that ideal, will simply be relegated to a forgotten history that failed to be cherished and revered.

Everything that was once considered precious and irreplaceable, such as patriotism, love of God, country and family will be set aside for the socialist agenda, promising free access to a host of services but, in the end, impoverishing whole societies, turning them into pitiful masses existing in bondage. Just ask anyone who lived under Castro’s Cuba or those who had the misfortune to grow up in Marxist-Leninist countries.

They will be the first to warn Americans to arm themselves with the truth about socialism and to be skeptical about the goodies promised when trying to lure people into a system designed to suppress the individual from ever rising to greatness. 

By taking explosive claims and inflammatory accusations as gospel, without thoroughly checking them out is where it begins. The need to arm oneself, in order to intelligently counter what has been charged, is an essential component for anyone who hopes to debunk false and defaming characterizations.

Each one of the candidates who won in last week’s primaries relied upon low-information voters who believe what they hear and never push back or challenge the veracity of what is being said, especially when it comes to Israel.

That is the strength of Woke ideology, which identifies a specific sector of people, based on their color, religious affiliation or some other external metric, painting them all as evil or dangerous. 

Once that label is securely affixed, it becomes easier to accept the libelous slanders that are forthcoming. It works best when people no longer feel the need to employ skepticism, doubt or disbelief that there are absolutely no redeeming qualities that can be attributed to an entire group.

Sadly, America falls into that category, when viewed through the lens of Democratic Socialists. To them, all they are able to see is a highly flawed country whose past has wronged many. There is no saving grace through the remedies which were established to correct any injustices.

People have to pay for the sins of the past. Whether through reparations, high taxes or some other kind of punitive measure, the disadvantaged (whomever they deem those to be) must be compensated for whatever went wrong. That way, there can be a final reckoning of all indiscretions.

But we’ve seen how that plays out. Everything benefits those in control, while all others are forced to pay the price. It is the sad story of failed nations who held their people hostage to an intolerable system that took away all individuality, freedom to think, act and believe as one wishes.  

America is at such a turning point right now. That is why it is incumbent upon each citizen to carefully guard what others are seeking to forcibly take away.  Only an informed population, armed with the truth, can prevent that from happening!
