The American nonprofit advocacy group 'StopAntisemitism' on Sunday announced its ten finalists for the sarcastic “Antisemite of the Year” award, which it has published annually since 2019.

Past “winners” include media personality Candace Owens (2024), American politicians Rashia Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, as well as rapper Kanye West.

This year, the finalists are: Former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson; celebrities Ms. Rachel, Cynthia Nixon, and Marcia Cross; mixed-martial-arts athlete Bryce Mitchell; Ana Kasparian and Cenk Uygur, pundits on the left-wing network 'The Young Turks'; and social media personalities Guy Christensen and Stew Peters.

Voting for the “nominees” is open until December 12 on the organization’s website. StopAntisemitism is an online watchdog and has over 346,000 followers on 𝕏.

The nominee who has garnered the most controversy in recent months is Tucker Carlson, who granted a friendly interview to avowed antisemite and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes in October.

Fuentes appeared to be miffed about not being nominated this year, writing on 𝕏, “Why wasn’t I nominated for antisemite of the year?”

The organization later clarified that it doesn’t nominate people more than once, and that Fuentes had been listed in the past. “While he was a finalist a few years back, his absence from this year’s cycle does not erase his antisemitism. Rather, it allows us to focus attention on other individuals who are spreading hate,” the group wrote.

The organization also published statements explaining each of the nominations.

Regarding Carlson, it said that having once been a Fox News’ primetime powerhouse, he has now become “one of the most prominent amplifiers pushing antisemitism into the mainstream for millions.”

“From downplaying white supremacy to promoting the antisemitic ‘great replacement’ theory, Carlson has built a career turning extremist dog whistles into broadcast-ready talking points, legitimizing voices that traffic in Holocaust revisionism, conspiracy, and hate.”

After his interview with Fuentes, All Israel News Editor-in-Chief Joel Rosenberg commented, “Look, Tucker’s obsessive criticism of Israel is one thing. But his open and unapologetic embrace of a Jew-hating, Israel-hating, Holocaust-denying White supremacist completely crosses the line.”

Ms. Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Anne Accurso, is a social media personality known for a children’s music program on YouTube who has often attacked Israel for allegedly killing children in Gaza through airstrikes.

StopAntisemitism wrote that she “has pushed Hamas propaganda to millions – sharing debunked images, inflated casualty claims, and almost entirely ignoring Israeli child victims. She also hosted Motaz Azaiza, a terrorist sympathizer who celebrated the 10/7 massacre & openly idolizes Yahya Sinwar.”

Cynthia Nixon, best known for a role on “Sex and the City” was nominated for her “BDS activism,” signing a Hollywood petition pledging to boycott Israeli film institutions.

Fellow actress Marcia Cross (Melrose Place, Desperate Housewives) was nominated for “a disturbing online campaign targeting Israel and the Jewish people” by using her fame “to excuse Hamas terrorism, demonize Israel, and promote violent, antisemitic rhetoric to a massive audience.”

MMA fighter Bryce Mitchell first reached a larger audience through an appearance on Carlson’s online show in 2022. He has since launched a podcast, where, among other things, he said that “Hitler was a good guy. He fought for his country,“ denied the Holocaust outright, and blamed the 9/11 attacks on Israel.

Guy Christensen is a 19-year-old far-left TikTok influencer with more than 3 million followers. He “built his platform by spreading antisemitic conspiracy theories, glorifying terrorists, and amplifying violent propaganda to a massive, impressionable audience.”

He recently posted a video supporting Elias Rodriguez, who murdered Israeli embassy staffers Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim in Washington, D.C. earlier this year, calling them “war criminals” and Rodriguez a “resistance fighter.”

Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian are the faces of The Young Turks, a far-left online news show.

Uygur was nominated for frequent statements “that go far beyond legitimate criticism of Israeli policy… His posts hold Israel to a unique double standard, portray Jewish and pro-Israel influence as corrupt and all-powerful, and suggest that American leaders act under foreign or Jewish control.”

His colleague Kasparian “has promoted conspiracy theories targeting Israel, accused U.S. politicians of ‘dual loyalty,’ and continues to evoke Holocaust reversal tropes.”

Finally, the “far-right conspiracy theorist and media personality” Stew Peters was nominated for referring to Jewish people “as the ‘synagogue of Satan,’ accuses Jews of killing Jesus, and believes slavery is Jewish.”

He has also denied both the Holocaust as well as the Oct. 7 massacre in the past.
