Terror attack in Jerusalem leaves woman in critical condition
Shooting attack occurred at a police checkpoint

A border guard is in serious condition after a terrorist opened fire at an East Jerusalem checkpoint on Saturday night and then fled into a waiting vehicle, according to several reports.
After Shabbat came to an end, a gunman shot at security forces at the checkpoint, police said, while another suspect fired from a passing vehicle. The injured guard is a 22-year-old woman. A 25-year-old security guard and another person were also wounded in the attack, rescue services said.
"A short time ago near Shuafat MP crossing, a terrorist shot and severely injured two Israelis. Israel Police forces are currently searching for the suspect who fled the scene," the Israel Police reported on Twitter.
Police have been on high alert around the country for the Jewish holidays.
