Israeli teen soccer star Orian Goren gains recognition at FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona, one of the world’s most successful and recognizable football (soccer) clubs, has won the UEFA Champions League trophy five times and has given its fans many things to cheer about in its 125-year history. Now, an Israeli teenager is drawing attention at the club’s famed FC Barcelona Academy, La Masia, where coaches say his skill, maturity, and dedication set him apart.

Orian Goren was born and raised in Savyon, central Israel, before moving with his family to Barcelona, Spain, as a teenager. The move gave him the opportunity to join the FC Barcelona youth team, where he quickly emerged as a promising midfielder competing for a place on the club’s Juvenil B team.

Goren is now considered a top prospect to join the pre-season training with the first team. A strong performance there could significantly improve his chances of becoming a regular member of the Juvenil A squad next season.

The competition remains fierce, with Goren training alongside other highly regarded prospects, including Pedro Villar, Pedro Rodriguez, Dani Avila, and Ebrima Tunkara. Despite the depth of talent around him, coaches have singled out the young Israeli midfielder for praise, highlighting his emotional maturity, team-first mentality, willingness to learn, and commitment to improvement – qualities they say add value beyond his technical ability and physical skills.

Goren’s rapid rise has already attracted recognition beyond FC Barcelona. In 2026, he was selected for Forbes Israel’s 30Under30 list, which highlights some of the country’s most promising young figures across a range of fields, including sports.
