Israel to add 400 new inspectors to enforce mask-wearing on public transportation
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Transportation Minister Merav Michaeli reached an agreement today with the Finance Ministry to hire 400 inspectors to enforce coronavirus regulations on public transportation.
The inspectors – whose jobs were approved for three months and can be renewed according to need – will enforce mask wearing on city buses and trains.
Israel is experiencing a new wave of COVID infections and indoor mask wearing has been reinstated in an attempt to curb the spread of the Delta variant.
