IDF strikes several Hezbollah sites in northern and southern Lebanon, says group in ‘blatant violation’ of ceasefire terms
Lebanese newspaper warns about potential escalation of strikes if Hezbollah not disarmed
The IDF on Thursday struck several sites belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization in the Bekaa region of Lebanon. Among the targets was a military camp used for training Hezbollah terrorists.
Several terrorists were observed at the scene of the strike before the operation.
The site that was attacked was reportedly used by Hezbollah to conduct training and education in the use of various types of weapons, including live-fire shooting drills, as well as for planning and executing terror plots against IDF troops and the State of Israel, the IDF reported.
In addition, the IDF struck military infrastructure at a site used for the production of precision missiles in the Bekaa region, and terror infrastructure at a Hezbollah military site near the Sherbin region in northern Lebanon.
The Bekaa Valley missile site has been targeted by the IDF several times before.
“The storage of weapons, the presence of this terrorist infrastructure, alongside Hezbollah elements conducting military trainings against the State of Israel, constitute a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon and a threat to the State of Israel,” the IDF said in a statement.
The announcement followed Lebanese media reports of multiple strikes and explosions in the Bekaa Valley, with eyewitnesses claiming to have seen Israeli warplanes in the area.
Later on Thursday, the Israeli military struck a Hezbollah weapons storage facility in the area of Nabatieh, in southern Lebanon. The facility was reportedly used by the terrorist group to advance and carry out attacks against Israel.
The strikes took place on Thursday evening in the area of Arabsalim, where a known Hezbollah weapons depot was located.
Lebanese media reported the death of two people in the strikes, although the reports did not indicate whether they were Hezbollah members.

“The Hezbollah terrorist organization continues to attempt to rebuild terror infrastructure sites across Lebanon, while endangering Lebanese civilians and using them as human shields,” the IDF said in a statement. “The presence of the terror infrastructure site constitutes a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.”
“The IDF will continue to operate in order to remove any threat posed to the State of Israel.”
Despite the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon, the Israeli military has continued to target any attempts by Hezbollah to rebuild military infrastructure in either southern or northern Lebanon.
According to a report in the Hezbollah-aligned newspaper Al-Akhbar, the Lebanese government was recently warned that Israel could escalate its strikes if the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) fail to disarm the terror group.
The pro-Hezbollah newspaper warned, "Lebanon is on the verge of a very dangerous and highly critical phase,” adding, "Israel will not remain idle for long" if the Lebanese state does not implement the disarmament plan it voted on earlier this year.
The LAF reported that the frequent pace of Israeli strikes against Hezbollah sites is obstructing its efforts to take control of the southern Lebanon territory south of the Litani River.
Earlier this week, IDF troops dismantled several posts established by Hezbollah across the Blue Line in the area of Har Dov.
