Hamas footage accidentally exposes the lie - Evyatar is starving, the terrorist is not
Released hostage Tal Shoham says, ‘Terrorists sitting a few meters away, eating stolen humanitarian aid’

Following the release of Hamas propaganda videos showing emaciated Israeli hostage Evyatar David inside a Gaza tunnel, many in Israel pointed out that the footage ends with an apparently well-fed Hamas operative handing a can of food to the starving captive.
“Look at the arms of Evyatar David – an Israeli hostage, starved to the edge of collapse,” the Israeli Foreign Ministry stated in a post on 𝕏. “Now look at the arm of his Palestinian Hamas captor – strong, well-fed, offering a can for show.”

So who’s really being starved in Gaza?@nytimes @BBC @CNN @Daily_Express pic.twitter.com/k3ppC7jjMq
Hamas claimed that David is eating the same food available to Gaza’s civilian population, appearing to draw a connection between his emaciated condition and recent international media coverage. Some of that coverage has included images of children reportedly suffering from starvation, though critics have noted that certain images were misattributed and depicted individuals with pre-existing medical conditions.
Tal Shoham, a former hostage held in the Hamas tunnels with Evyatar and former hostage, Guy Gilboa Dalal, spoke with Channel 12 News about the situation.
“Evyatar looks like a skeleton and bones, and I'm sure the cruel terrorists didn't show him and Guy together so that we wouldn't know what happened to Guy."
“This is the same tunnel where I was held with them,” Shoham explained. “A few meters away there is an iron door, behind which are Hamas terrorists sitting, eating abundantly food that they stole from the humanitarian aid that was intended for the residents of Gaza.”
Shoham stated that Dalal is being held in the same tunnel, despite not appearing in the propaganda video.
“He is behind the curtain, and I'm sure he's in the same situation,” Shoham emphasized.
Shoham described the footage as “shocking scenes of the Holocaust,” and condemned Hamas for releasing it as part of what he called “sadistic propaganda.”
“I was with Evyatar David for 481 days in the Hamas tunnels,” Shoham explained. “Before my release, we were all starved to the extreme in order to exert pressure, and when it had a boomerang effect from the world, they fed us.”
He said that Evyatar has visible signs of scurvy, a disease caused by insufficient vitamin C.
“This is extreme abuse and starvation,” he said. “Now Hamas has starved Evyatar and Guy in an even more extreme way, it seems that it has lost another 20 kilograms.”
Evyatar family said he is being “deliberately and cynically starved in the Hamas tunnels in Gaza, a living skeleton buried alive. Our son has only a few days left to live in his current state. Our Evyatar is starved in this way for the propaganda purposes of the Hamas terror organization.”
"The humanitarian aid that the world, together with Israel, provides to the residents of Gaza must also reach Evyatar. We call on the government of Israel, the people of Israel, the nations of the world and the President of the United States to do everything possible to save Evyatar from death and to make sure in every way that he receives food and medication urgently."
The Foreign Ministry also issued an additional statement, criticizing international media outlets for failing to feature images of Evyatar David on their front pages – despite prominently displaying photos of Gazan children with genetic conditions, which were falsely presented as evidence of starvation.
“This is what your front page should’ve looked like,” the ministry posted, calling out the New York Times, the BBC, CNN, and Daily Express.

Democrat House Representative Ritchie Torres, who has frequently spoken out in favor of Israel during the Iron Swords War, also criticized the media for its lack of attention to the hostages, calling out what he described as a double standard.
