Avi Marciano, the father of the murdered female scout Noa Marciano, spoke publicly about the details of his daughter’s death for the first time, sharing additional details.

Marciano is seen in an Instagram video posted by Israel activist Shai Deluca speaking to a small crowd, where he claimed that Noa was murdered by a doctor in Shifa hospital, who injected air into her veins. Avi also said that the family found out about her death after they received a video of her murder on the Telegram social media network.

“A medical professional decided to murder her,” Avi says in the video. “Noa is begging for her life.” He says that in the video, a Palestinian doctor at Shifa Hospital injected air into Noa’s veins, which led to her death.

He said that by the end of the video, “she’s sweating but there’s no life to her body.”

Noa was one of seven female observation soldiers kidnapped from the Nahal Oz military base on Oct. 7, along with Liri Albag, Karina Ariev, Agam Berger, Daniella Gilboa, Naama Levy, and Ori Megidish. Noa was the only one of the seven who did not return alive.

The Marciano family had previously shared that a doctor at Shifa Hospital killed their daughter, but had not shared any details.

"They chose to murder her instead of taking care of her. It was a doctor who did it, in a hospital. She was injured by air force bombings and was taken to Shifa,” the family said at the time.

Ori Megidish, who was captured with Noa, and was kept with her for part of the time, also testified that Noa was killed by a doctor at the hospital.

Her body was recovered by the IDF from a building adjacent to Shifa Hospital in Gaza City in November 2023. Hamas released a video on Nov. 20, 2023, blaming the IDF for her death. In the clip, she is at first seen alive and reading a propaganda message but, following a video cut, the clip returns to show what Hamas claims to be her dead body, alleging she was killed by an Israeli airstrike.

However, the IDF rejected the Hamas accusation, releasing a statement which said, “After analyzing the footage, experts suggest that her injuries do not align with those typically sustained in airstrikes.”

“The observed wounds appear more consistent with bullet injuries, and there is also an indication that she may have suffered from injuries related to a fall from a height,” the experts who analyzed the video said.

After her remains were located and returned to Israel, IDF Spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said, “According to the medical findings, Noa was kidnapped to a hiding place near Shifa, and during IDF attacks on the area, the Hamas terrorist who was holding her was killed. Noa was injured, but [it was] not a life-threatening injury.”

In the video released on Instagram, Avi said that what he went through on seeing his daughter dying is the biggest nightmare he could ever imagine anyone going through. He said there are still mornings when he wakes up with the video of his daughter’s murder replaying in his mind.

“Noa was my eldest daughter and there’s not a day when I don’t miss her,” Avi said.
