'Provocation to Muslim sentiments': Jordan slams Houthi targeting of Medina
Jordan condemned an attempted Houthi ballistic missile attack on Saudi Arabia’s Medina region on Thursday, hours before reports that sirens sounded at a U.S. military base in Jordan.
Medina is Islam’s second-holiest city. The Jordanian Foreign Ministry called the targeting “a provocation to Muslim sentiments” and reaffirmed its “full solidarity” with Saudi Arabia.
Overnight, unconfirmed reports said sirens sounded at a U.S. military base in Jordan. Neither Jordan nor the U.S. has commented.
