Nobel Peace Prize to be awarded to jurist who accused Israel of genocide

The Nobel Peace Prize will be awarded to South African jurist Navanethem (Navi) Pillay, the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced on Friday.
A judge at the International Court of Justice who also served as UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, she claims that Israel has committed genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza, and that it maintains an apartheid regime against Palestinians.
According to the committee, Pillay will receive the prize “for her efforts to promote peace and international law.”
