Netanyahu, Katz vow to pursue Hamas ‘until it no longer exists’ after Northern Gaza Brigade commander eliminated
The commander of Hamas’ Northern Gaza Brigade was eliminated in a precise aerial strike overnight, the IDF said.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, commending the IDF and ISA for the operation, said Izz al-Din Bik was involved in terrorist plots against Israeli forces and worked to recruit operatives for Hamas. “We will continue to hunt and pursue all of the organization's terrorists, from its commanders down to its last operative, wherever they may hide – until Hamas no longer exists in Gaza,” the joint statement said.
According to the IDF, Bik had led the brigade since the killing of Ahmed Ghandour, after previously serving as its military intelligence chief.
