Lebanese official amid US-Iran tensions: ‘Hezbollah says it won’t intervene, but we don’t trust it’
Lebanon is preparing for the possibility of renewed fighting between the United States and Iran, amid reports that Tehran and Hezbollah have assured the Lebanese leadership that the terrorist organization will not participate in the conflict, Kan News reported Wednesday evening.
However, a Lebanese official expressed skepticism about Hezbollah’s assurances, saying the group could not be trusted to stay out of the fighting.
The developments come amid warnings reportedly conveyed by Israel to Lebanon through the United States regarding the severe consequences of any Hezbollah involvement in a renewed conflict.
