Israeli border officials stop 33 Chinese passengers with forged Japanese passports
On the eve of the third anniversary of the Oct. 7 Hamas-led massacre and less than a week after the attempted hijacking of a flydubai flight, a group of 33 passengers was stopped at the Allenby Bridge Border Crossing on Tuesday morning (today) after presenting what authorities determined to be forged Japanese passports as reported by The Jerusalem Post.
The group consisted of 27 men and six women, all confirmed to be Chinese citizens.
Population and Immigration Authority (PIBA) border inspectors became suspicious of the group as they attempted to cross from Jordan into Israel. The passengers were subsequently referred to professional officials for further examination, which confirmed that the passports were counterfeit.
The entire group was denied entry into Israel and their passports were collected for further processing and investigation.
