IDF kills Hamas military commander who kept hostages in Gaza airstrike
The IDF said today that Momen Ahmad Salameh Ay, a commander in Hamas’ military wing and an aide to Gaza Brigade commanders was killed in an airstrike yesterday.
Salameh Ay took part in holding hostages in Hamas captivity in the Gaza City area during the war, the military said.
More recently, he advanced attacks against IDF troops and while working to restore Hamas’ capabilities in the Gaza Strip, the military said, calling it a “violation of the ceasefire.”
The IDF said Salameh Ay was “eliminated in order to remove the threat he posed.”
