IDF chief orders to weigh legal action against 'blood libel' claims by NAZA film
IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir on Monday ordered the military to take several measures against the "NAZA" film, which advances false accusations that the IDF has intentionally killed civilians in the war in the Gaza Strip.
After a high-level consultation, Zamir ordered a "multi-agency, multidisciplinary team" to formulate "courses of action and tools for addressing false allegations against the IDF and its soldiers, in cooperation with experts from Israel and around the world," the IDF said.
In addition, the Military Advocate General was instructed to "examine and advance possible legal measures concerning the film and those involved in it, including in light of the dissemination of false allegations against IDF soldiers and the potential implications for their personal safety and for Israel’s national security."
“Based on what has been published thus far, this is not a film offering criticism of the IDF, nor is it an attempt to establish the truth. It is based on blood libels, deliberate distortions of reality, and grave, false accusations against IDF soldiers and commanders," Zamir said.
