Hegseth: Fort Hood shooter’s execution to be livestreamed, in apparent global first

The U.S. intends to livestream the execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan, U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth told Real America’s Voice.

“We’ll make sure that people are able to watch it,” Hegseth said.

The remark followed President Donald Trump’s decision that Hasan be executed by firing squad, the first such military execution since World War II.

In 2009, Hasan, a Palestinian-American former U.S. Army psychiatrist, killed 13 people at the Fort Hood military base in Texas.

Robin Maher, executive director of the Death Penalty Information Center, told USA Today that the organization could find no record of an execution ever being livestreamed.
