EU foreign policy chief: Oct. 7 attack was a ‘barbaric act of terror’; Hamas must disarm
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas said on the third anniversary of the Oct. 7 massacre that the Hamas attack was a “barbaric act of terror,” adding that the European Union stands with Israel in remembering “every life taken and destroyed at the hands of the Hamas terrorists.”
Kallas said her thoughts were with the victims, survivors, their families and all those who continue to carry the pain of that day. She also called for the firm rejection of all forms of antisemitism across Europe so that Jewish communities can “live openly, safely and without fear.”
“Hamas brought unspeakable suffering to the Israeli people and left devastation in its wake,” Kallas wrote. “Hamas must disarm so that the Gaza Peace Plan can move forward.”
