Bahrain opposes Iranian shipping proposal: 'We cannot sit with them'; Oman announces meeting postponed
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the new route would be presented at a meeting in Oman attended by five Gulf states along with Iraq.
However, a Bahraini official made clear that “we cannot do that after all the attacks against us in recent months.”
According to the official, “the solution in the Strait of Hormuz is compliance with international law.”
As such, Al Jazeera reported that thr meeting scheduled to take place in the Sultanate of Oman between Iran and several Arab countries, aimed at providing an update on the details of understandings reached between Iran and Oman regarding a new shipping route through the Strait of Hormuz, was postponed at Saudi Arabia’s request.
