What has become of Great Britain?

I am British myself and proud of my country. It is wonderful to look back through history and see that we played a part in the Land of Palestine and in the future establishment of a Jewish state through the Balfour Declaration.

But today, I hold my head in shame. What has happened? What has gone wrong?

We recently witnessed the awful terror attack against a synagogue in Manchester. Today, Jews are fearful of living in the UK.

Our government has welcomed a Palestinian state—what a load of nonsense that was.

We have seen Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters banned from attending a football match in the UK because police could not guarantee their safety. And shockingly, a Jewish man was detained in London for wearing a Star of David because it might be considered “provocative.”

My goodness—what is going on? Our once great nation has spiraled downward so much, I wonder what will happen next week.

But is God behind all of this?

I am not saying that God is anti-Israel or hates the Jewish people. But could He be using the free will of Great Britain for His purpose?

The Bible says:

“Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the Lord, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.”
— Jeremiah 16:16 (KJV)

We have seen the “fishermen” going out and calling the Jewish people back home to their land. It is wonderful to hear of those helping Jews return.

But are we now living in the season of the “hunters”? With all this hatred spreading, Jews are beginning to ask, “Am I safe anymore in Great Britain?”

The Bible also says:

“I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth.”
— Isaiah 43:6 (KJV)

Is Great Britain’s turn part of biblical prophecy? We will suffer if we turn away from our Jewish brothers and sisters—but at the same time, God can use it for good, to call the Jews home.

It is quite ironic, really. All this hatred makes Jews question whether they should remain in the UK. So where will they go? To Israel, of course—the very place the Jew-hater doesn’t want them to go.

I wonder if God laughs at that.

If this is God’s doing, then let’s help the Jewish people in every way we can to return to their homeland. At the very least, it might allow Britain to salvage some of its dignity—because Britain needs to reclaim its greatness once again.
