Tucker’s brain virus definition also infected Charlie

It’s hard to understand what happened to the man who dominated the evening news for years with his unique brand of reporting as he brought us stories that no one else was willing to tackle. That’s why so many of us were heartbroken when Tucker Carlson suddenly disappeared from Fox News without any warning. It seemed unthinkable!

As it turns out, we either didn’t know the man or his views changed so dramatically that he is no longer recognizable as the one who had gained our trust and respect.

Today, Tucker has gone to the dark side when it comes to Israel.  But it doesn’t emanate from the “America First” agenda, which believes that all U.S. political and financial considerations should only benefit its citizens rather than becoming too involved in the affairs of other countries.

In the case of Israel, the world’s greatest supplier of intelligence and technological know-how, when it comes to global terrorism, it’s an enormous error and a great underestimation to look at the Jewish state as equal to all others, because in this fight, they are head and shoulders above everyone.

Tucker’s perspective, on the State of Israel, goes beyond that.  As he expresses his true, unfiltered feelings, a level of great contempt can be heard in every spoken word.

Just last week, Carlson’s interview with Holocaust denier, Nick Fuentes, exemplified to what extent his viewpoint has devolved. Backing Fuentes’ criticism of U.S. support for Israel, he concluded that, “We (America) gets nothing out of it.”

Referring to Christian Zionists as heretical, Carlson expressed his ‘deep offense as a Christian,’ stating that “he disliked them more than anybody.”

If those off-the-wall sentiments are true, then how does he explain his continued presence at Turning Point USA – first by eulogizing Charlie Kirk and then by committing to appearances at future TP USA events? Did he miss that Charlie was a fervent lover and supporter of Israel or that he, too, probably thought of himself as a Christian Zionist?

How does he square his obvious contempt for the man who spoke with so much respect and adoration for the land and the people of Israel?

In Tucker’s list of those infected with the “brain virus” of Christian Zionism, he names Mike Huckabee, Ted Cruz, John Bolton, George W. Bush and Carl Rove. Why wasn’t Charlie’s name included? It should have been, because he also suffered from that same malady.

According to an article which appeared in Times of Israel, “Charlie Kirk never sat on the fence about Israel.” That was evident by one post, following his 2019 visit, which read, “Israel changed my life. Strengthened my faith, made the Bible pop into reality and gave me the most precious memories with Erika.”

Scheduled to return in January 2026, Charlie’s enduring commitment to the land of his faith, caused him to realize that Israel’s destiny was intrinsically connected to America. That is why he said, “The fate of Israel and the fate of Western civilization will rise or fall together.”

Charlie’s record is unmistakable, as he unashamedly believed in Israel’s right to defend herself, a question repeatedly asked of him by young people on college campuses who didn’t support the Jewish state.

His legacy is one which defines him as a staunch ally and steadfast advocate of the Jewish homeland. In fact, his deep passion for the biblical land he cherished is a mirror opposite of Tucker’s mean-spirited and scornful attitude towards the country which is not only fighting a barbaric enemy in their midst, but one which would not hesitate to destroy America.

Knowing this, Charlie stated that “it pained him to see support for Israel slip away.  In a personal letter to Prime Minister Netanyahu, he wrote, “I am alarmed by anti-Israel and anti-Semitic trends hitting record levels on social media since one of my greatest joys as a Christian is advocating for Israel and forming alliances with Jews in the fight to protect Judeo-Christian civilization.”

He went on to tell the Prime Minister that “he and his team had spent months analyzing those trends and debating ideas that could help Israel push back against those disturbing developments.”

How would Charlie feel now, knowing that the man who eulogized him believes that Christian Zionists (those who love and support the Jewish homeland) are inflicted by a brain virus?

When turning to a close friend of Charlie’s, to find out more about how he felt, I was told that he believed in the self-determination of the Jewish people in their ancestral homeland and that antisemitism was brain rot from the pit of hell.

If Charlie’s TP USA team is truly as committed to supporting Israel as their mentor was, then one of the best ways they could push back against the disturbing trends which are still happening, despite a ceasefire, would be to disassociate themselves from anyone who publicly expresses contempt for supporters of Israel.

Such a strong stand would serve to separate Turning Point from those who believe that supporting and defending Israel is neither in the best interest of the U.S. nor a consistent Biblical value as stated in Genesis 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you.”

When quoted by Senator Ted Cruz during an interview with Tucker, he Immediately sought to embarrass and shame Cruz who couldn’t recall the exact citation of the passage.

In truth, the only one who should be embarrassed and shamed is Tucker, who has often referred to himself as a Christian believer but apparently has missed the many scriptures associated with God’s plan for Israel who will usher in world redemption and be a light to the nations.

In his attempt to extinguish that light, by casting Israel as not being worth anything to the great and mighty nation of America, Tucker stands in a dark place, along with others whose opinion of Israel is equally denigrating.

Charlie saw the light, embraced it and spent his final days extolling the praises of the land that he knew had a divine purpose for all mankind. It is incumbent upon TP USA to preserve and honor that legacy of Charlie!
