Is Israel back at war?
What were the chances that a multi-phased ceasefire agreement, made between a reputable state and a barbaric terrorist government would be honored? Consequently, is anyone surprised to hear that Israel’s Prime Minister has instructed the IDF to carry out retaliatory attacks in Gaza?
Let’s recap as to what brought us to this point. A number of violations began to occur, indicating that Hamas had no real intention of fulfilling their end of the deal.
What began with a hopeful start, and the release of all 20 live hostages, soon became clear that the return of the dead bodies, held by Hamas, were being stalled. At least two were identified as not being the remains of our captives.
Through drone surveillance, it was finally revealed that Hamas had been faking their search for deceased hostages. What actually took place was that Hamas had buried bodies, after which time they would call Red Cross teams to dig them up. This was evidenced by footage which caught them red-handed.
Why did they do that? It was part of a performative act, designed to buy time. In a flimsy attempt to avoid progressing to phase two, where they are expected to disarm and leave Gaza, they found a way to not only delay the inevitable but also to con everyone into believing that they are doing their utmost to find dead bodies, buried under the rubble of war – deserving of the ultimate “E” for effort.
In truth, their callous and wanton scam attests to the fact that they knew where the bodies were. Their feigned act of cooperation and show of determination to supply those dead hostages, was nothing more than a clever production, but, in this case, they’re not fooling anyone.
Once the footage was exposed, the suspicions of foot-dragging were confirmed, letting us know that a snake can’t be true to his word.
Consequently, Netanyahu ordered “immediate and powerful strikes in the Gaza Strip following what Israel described as repeated ceasefire violations by Hamas.”
But it wasn’t just the delay in returning our dead hostages. An escalation of Hamas attacks continued to occur, as Israeli forces were repeatedly attacked in Gaza. On Tuesday morning, “Hamas opened fire on Israeli troops positioned in Rafah, setting off intense exchanges of gunfire and heavy shelling in the southern part of the Strip.”
Of course, it was a cynically shrewd move on their part, knowing that attacking our soldiers would generate a response by our military, which Hamas, in turn, could use as an excuse for further delaying the return of our hostages. And that’s exactly what happened.
Taking to Telegram, Hamas accused Israel of “trying to ‘fabricate false pretexts in preparation for taking new aggressive steps’ in Gaza” while, at the same time, claiming that Israel was blocking their great efforts of their “humanitarian tasks” to “locate bodies.”
But these are the predictable tactics which a terrorist group, committed to its survival and control of Gaza, would take. Given these acts of defiance, does anyone still have illusions that Hamas intends to lay down their weapons or give up control over the most convenient territory from which to attack the Jewish state?
According to a recent article entitled, “Hamas has not changed its DNA,” Kobi Michael, the head of the Palestinian desk at the Strategic Affairs Ministry claims that “Hamas is working to reassert itself as the dominant ruling force of the Gaza Strip. Everyday they are making lots of progress.
The title of the article suggests that a leopard cannot change its spots, concluding that it will require forcible removal of the terror group in order to finally rid Gaza of their unwanted presence. In the meantime, Hamas did what they had to do for their immediate survival.
Knowing how determined Israel was to save the lives of those 20 living hostages, and realizing that if they refused to let them go, that we would end up decimating them, they relented, making everyone believe that they would go the distance on an agreement which demanded their immediate departure.
Despite the premature hailing of peace and tranquility, followed by claims that this was the dawning of a new Middle East reality, few Israelis believed that Hamas would honor a pact which would defang them and allow for a new government to be installed.
Why wouldn’t there be grave doubt that such a future could be forged? Because when witnessing the depraved inhumane acts, which they were capable of executing, it becomes clear that their ability to demonstrate any resemblance to civilized human beings was merely a pipe dream.
Hamas is a demonic, evil force which is Satanically motivated to destroy, annihilate and thoroughly degrade the people whom they have been robotically taught to despise. While it’s possible that many don’t even know why or for what reason they have been indoctrinated to hate the Jewish people, they, nonetheless, are loyal disciples to the cult of murdering God’s chosen.
Falling into the same category as the enemies during biblical times, is it any wonder that the children of Israel were instructed to completely wipe them out, leaving none behind? This is what the world fails to understand.
Of course, if they were on the receiving end of a deadly foe, who would stop at nothing until their goals were met, all of our detractors would finally understand that nothing short of finishing them off, would deter them from achieving their singular objective of wiping us off the face of the earth.
But, until that is experienced on a personal level, Israel will continue to be blasted as being inhumane or guilty of ethnically cleansing Gazans, who, in this case, include cold-blooded Hamas terrorists.
While no one knows how this will all play out, it’s doubtful that the ceasefire agreement will hold up or that Hamas will willingly fade into the sunset. For now, Israel is back to defending herself from the same enemy who is committed to her end. And, sadly, that means we are back at war!
