Deliberate historical ignorance leads to violence

It’s uncanny how Israel and America have one major issue in common, at this moment in time. Both are suffering from the scourge of violence, in part, stemming from deliberate historical ignorance.
While that may sound like a very simplified perspective, since violent actions are the work of individuals who are willing to employ radical extremes, there is no question that deliberate historical ignorance also plays into their decisions.
Take the example of Israel. Her enemies, mostly Islamisists, also joined by today’s international stream of the Woke and Progressives, ignorantly contend that the Jewish homeland is the stolen land of Palestinians, rightly belonging to them.
Not only is this historically inaccurate but biblically and politically as well. From historical documentation, based on biblical accounts, the land between the Euphrates River to the Brook of Egypt, including Judea, Samaria and parts of Jordan, all known, then as Canaan, was promised to Abraham and his descendants. Divided up amongst the 12 tribes, this Promised Land was never meant to be shared by others.
From a political standpoint, a majority of world nations voted to recognize a Jewish homeland in 1948, giving it legal status, sovereignty and self-determination. That meant that, just as with any other nation, wars won against Israel’s enemies would result in the seizure of more land, accounting for Israel’s present borders.
But, despite all of that historical, political and biblical background, today’s terrorists, as well as their proxies, whether local or abroad, are telling everyone that Israel is a country that sits on stolen land. It’s a great justification for resorting to violence and a claim also backed up by their uninformed supporters.
Do they know that it’s factually wrong? Undoubtedly, but when obsessively motivated by coveting the land of Israel, a whopper of a lie must be invented so that the violent acts, which are then perpetrated, can be seen as rational and valid.
The second deliberate fabrication surrounds the libelous and untrue claim that Israel is an apartheid state, suppressing its Arab population. They also know this is untrue, since many Arabs serve in Israeli governmental positions, top professions and enjoy a relatively high standard of living. But the falsehood works to justify violence against Israelis whom they claim are victimizing minorities.
Sadly, the deliberate ignorance of history is also playing out in the U.S., in an effort to further violence there as well.
In the case of America, it’s true that settlers developed the land of the indigenous people, often disenfranchising them, but if those settlers had not taken the initiative, America would still be a wilderness frontier today.
Added to that, are a number of injustices for which America has been responsible. Yet, in an effort to confront those wrongs, new laws were constantly enacted, endeavoring to bring justice, equal opportunity and the possibility of upward mobility for those who worked hard. That is also an important part of American history which has been conveniently overlooked.
America has come a long way, seeking to undo her transgressions and provide a good path for her citizens. That path, however, is accompanied by many diverse opinions of how to create success and the best life possible.
Turning Point USA, the movement created by Charlie Kirk, which especially focused on America’s youth, espoused the life principles needed to achieve the most productive way forward, in order to live a full and happy existence.
Shockingly, those values became so much of a threat to the enemies of free speech, godly tenets and the honorable institution of marriage and family, that those timeless and revered ideals were dishonestly characterized as “hate speech.” It was the ruse under which Charlie was murderously gunned down in cold blood, attempting to silence the message of hope, which empowered young people to live well.
So callous, have these radicals become, that they are now publicly willing to support killing an individual when they deem it to be a fitting measure to stop a viewpoint they see as dangerous.
“A new poll shows liberals are more likely than conservatives to say violence can be warranted in order to achieve political goals.” According to a study in April, conducted by “the Network Contagion Research Institute, along with Rutgers University, it found that 55% of self-identified left-of-center respondents said that it was at least somewhat justified to murder President Trump. Forty-eight percent said the same of Elon Musk, and 40% of respondents, including 59.6% of left-of-center respondents, said it was at least somewhat acceptable to destroy a Tesla dealership in protest.”
We are witnessing a disturbing trend by a growing segment of the population who is willing to reject the moral, biblical and legal laws, which recognize murder as a crime, punishable by imprisonment or death. In the name of generating justice, these radicals are in favor of the anarchy brought on by vigilante decree.
But think of where that would lead! The conclusion of what determines hate speech is completely subjective, meaning that anyone could decide who is deserving of death, simply by declaring that their words are provocative enough to warrant the act of murder.
The notion that today’s greatest danger to society is the expression of differing opinions and ideas, justifying the use of violence, is completely antithetical to the privilege and right of free speech held by open democratic societies. Because it suppresses the exchange of diverse thought, obligating that only one position be acceptable.
The problem with adopting such an extreme, radical change is that it forces group think, with the consequence of a threat to one’s life if someone steps out of line with the prevailing belief. America would cease to be the bastion of freedom and real diversity if that were to become the new normal.
While it’s true that this kind of anarchial turmoil has not yet infected the majority of humanity, it cannot be ignored as a passing anomaly either. The violence that we are seeing, these days, is becoming more frequent, more disturbing and a growing phenomenon in its newfound validity as a viable alternative, if certain criteria is seen to be met.
The deliberate ignorance of how far America has come, historically, cannot be forgotten. No society is perfect, but if sane and moral people don’t loudly raise their voices against this deadly new trend, there will be no further opportunity to improve, as a society, because no one will be left.
