A deep dive analysis into the unprecedented fanfare for Charlie Kirk

If you are one of the many millions of people around the world who are still trying to digest the unprecedented level of honor and accolades given to Charlie Kirk, at his memorial service on Sunday, you’re obviously not in the minority.

Since the dawning of television, no one has been extolled so effusively or held with such awe in quite the same way - nor will the magnitude of this honor, likely, ever be repeated.  This is the reason why.

Way before an assassin’s bullet took Charlie’s life, Americans saw their beloved First Amendment, freedom of speech, begin to erode over the course of several decades. It was part of a well-executed and systematic plan, driven by a spirit of tyranny in the quest to control others. The sole objective was to make sure that the cost of exercising one’s right to freely express their thoughts and opinions would not be worth it.

As everyday norms were dramatically altered, people were expected to change along with them, blindly accepting whatever was the new code of behavior, regardless of whether it was morally correct or even logical.

Verbally distinguishing sanity from insanity became the third rail of society which almost no one was willing to cross. Invoking “Political Correctness” served as the ominous warning to carefully think about the consequences for what you would say before uttering a word.

We were reminded that to disagree with a particular lifestyle was the same as condemnation or being judgmental. To call out the notion that men could become women and vice versa was to be guilty of voicing a phobia, and who wanted that label?

Without being told, each one of us knew that certain subjects had to be completely avoided. They included homosexuality, gender confusion, transsexuality, living together without marriage, support for Israel, the lack of respect for parents, the ditching of tradition and one’s culture, the folly of open borders and allowing illegals to live in Western societies while refusing to embrace their values. These were only some of the topics which we instinctively knew were off limits.

They told us that if we didn’t want to be humiliated or de-friended from clubs, organizations or even personal relationships, we were required to conform to whatever new fantasy, fetish or preference that was being adopted by imbalanced individuals.

At the same time, college students were being bullied into accepting only one world view.  Not to do so could easily result in their receiving a poor grade by activist professors, whose job was to indoctrinate rather than educate.

This resulted in millions being frightened into silence and compliance, knowing that not to do so would be to their social detriment. So, they willingly played along, followed the rules and, often, against their better judgment, compromised their own beliefs in order to get along and be considered open-minded.

But there’s a price to pay for that kind of capitulation. Because once your conscience is compromised, every morning is met with a feeling of helplessness, knowing that there is no way to change a system that is meant to turn everyone into obedient robots.

One man stood against this, willing to pay the price which ended his life, and that is the reason why Charlie Kirk was honored more than any human being. Counting the cost was not in his DNA. He knew who he was, and he knew what the rest of us could be if only willing to speak up and not surrender our will to evildoers.

Charlie showed America how to take back their country, sanity, the laws of nature, common sense, biological boundaries and all the truly good and virtuous blessings which only come from above.

Without being apologetic, Charlie instinctively knew that the youth of today had to be first on his list.  By giving them a voice, he would empower them to speak for themselves, rather than cower in the shadows, and that’s exactly what he did.

Traveling from campus to campus, he would take on those forbidden subjects which no one else dared to tackle. He did it with great respect for his rival debater, clarity of thought, deep factual research and an elegant articulation possessed by few.

Those of us who avidly watched his clips learned from his style, his gentle but firm way of speaking, which gave us an exemplary blueprint on how to get our point across in a way which would cause others to think rather than feel defeated or inferior.

It was often said that he made it cool to be a conservative as well as a person of deep faith – something which many felt compelled to hide or dilute for fear of being mocked or rejected.

In some ways, Charlie Kirk resurrected the boldness which had been squashed and suppressed through the fear of man. It was that acknowledgement which turned out people by the tens of thousands, grateful for what he awakened in them.

They all knew that Charlie Kirk had bequeathed them with a newfound liberty and the determination to bravely stand, no matter what the cost, for the values, principles, godly lifestyle and faith which, for too long, they recklessly abandoned.

What we witnessed on Sunday night was the extraordinary outbreak of appreciation for the man who made sure that he equipped us, before being prematurely taken, with the necessary tools of knowledge, grace, patience, forbearance, skill and, most of all, love for our fellow man.

The outpouring of gratitude that was expressed, by those in attendance, was shared by many who observed from a distance, feeling indebted to a man who gave us back something we had lost.

Indeed, the movement he started will be multiplied many times over, because no one will ever be willing to go back to their silent corners. When tempted to do so, they will remember that Charlie took a bullet for what he believed. His bravery will be a constant reminder that shying away from debate is no longer an option, nor will we be shamed into silence.

The legend of Charlie Kirk is one which will last throughout the generations who witnessed the turning point of America as we got back our voices through the life of one man who paid the ultimate price to make sure that we could resume what he started.
